Control

The safe and energy efficient VarioS DC pump now include the new VarioS controller giving you more control. With 5 different energy saving speeds and two feed modes, the controller lets you know what your pump is doing at a glance.

Third Party Control

There is a dedicated port on the VarioS controller letting you directly connect your VarioS pump to any third party controller through a 0-10V reference port. Controlling your pump through a controller like an Apex lets you create your own flow profiles which are particularly handy for closed loop systems creating a random flow throughout the aquarium.

Safety

Having a pump that lets you directly attach a float switch has several advantages. The float can let you set high or low points in your sump, skimmer cup, or display tank that will shut the pump off when the float is activated.

The VarioS controller includes a waterproof 3-conductor union that connects to the pump creating a safe and detachable connection.

  • Buy it! By Ferrell on 11/20/2017

I can’t say enough except I wish I would have bought 2. Lol. They work flawlessly and the float switch and 0-10v is a bonus. I’ve only been running it a month in the tank but used it to move water while filling the tank. Spot on every time.
  • Great pump By David on 9/12/2017

I have had this pump running on my 125 now over a year and still running strong. So quiet you can't even hear it running. Also no vibration in the plumbing. I highly recommend.
  • Quiet & easy to control By Elliot on 6/5/2017

So far no complaints; completely silent and comes with a variety of fittings for outputs. The controller is also well designed and easy to use, and I like the fact that it comes with a float switch. Do note that the float switch must be installed upside-down if you want to use it in the sump (corded side of detector facing down).
  • Super quiet By Marquise on 2/17/2017

The pump is installed on the sump of my 93g cube and its SUPER QUIET!!! The controller is easy to learn and the float switch is a bonus
  • Dead silent... By Dan on 11/29/2016

It is so quiet, I thought it wasn't working right until water came rushing out the return line. Pumps a bit harder than a mag 7. We'll see how long she lasts.

Product Questions

Can this pump be used as a return pump on a 65 gallon sps reef? Can it be set up with a battery back up and if so, what all would be needed to do such?
Question by: Matt Hall on Dec 18, 2016 1:29:00 PM
Great question! This pump would be a perfect fit for a 65gal tank, as a return pump. You would have to utilize a standard UPS battery backup as there is not proprietary one made specifically for this pump.

Is the flow output continuously variable using the 0-10v interface, or is it limited to the same 5 levels available with the VarioS controller?
Question by: Jim Holt on Jan 18, 2017 1:56:00 PM
Hey there! You will have more variation in the control of this pump when utilizing the Apex. You will be able to adjust from nearly 0% to 100% and anywhere in between. :-)

On the flow rate/ water head picture above. What setting 1-5 is used to make these readings?
Question by: Rico on May 12, 2017 2:18:00 AM
Hey there,
The flow chart on this page is based on the maximum flow setting for this pump. As head height increases and gets closer to the max head rating (14.7ft), the flow will continue to drop and eventually reach zero.

Happy reefing!
