Use With or Without an Apex Controller!
The intelligent Neptune COR-20 Return Pump is easily the smartest pump available. Directly connecting to any Apex controller through an Aquabus Port, but if you do not have a controller, don't worry, you don't need one! COR pumps come standard with advanced control features that can be found by using the Apex Fusion Cloud Software (Apex required). Add a COR pump to your system today to see the difference.

- Extremely Quiet
- AquaBus Communication Connection
- Temperature Monitoring
- Up to 2000 GPH
- Internal or External
Don't have an Apex? No Problem!
The COR-20 can be connected to an Apex, but it can also be used in a standalone method, where the controller lets you have simple control over the pump like, increasing and decreasing the speed as desired. Connecting the COR-20 to an Apex Controller can unlock much more potential!
The COR pumps were built from the ground up with control in mind. Have power over everything including the CORs output percentage, real-time operational feedback, compared feed routines, pump status can all be monitored and controlled with Apex Fusion. Once the COR pump is plugged into a 1Link port, and after a couple button presses you can set the pumps flow rate and feed mode settings. By enabling IQ-Level, you can set the min and max flow rates for your aquarium.
Up to 2000GPH
The powerful COR-20 can push up to 2000 gallons per hour with an incredibly efficient head-loss curve. Each pump comes with multiple different output fittings that let you adapt the COR pumps output to match your reef tanks current plumbing size. It is suggested to use the largest 1.25" Union that is included, but it is totally fine to use the other 0.75" or 1.0" adapters if needed.
Because not all aquariums are alike, Neptune Systems included IQ-Level technology with every COR pump. Customize the minimum and maximum speed settings for your tanks plumbing to the ideal flow rate, but also the minimum flow rate for in tank flow and feed modes as well.
Neptune's COR uses the latest in Vector Control, BLDC motor technology. Driving the COR pump in a way that is super energy efficient using less than 50W at full power, and staying vibration and noise free.
Know what is going on with your pump at all times. COR pumps come loaded with features that let you monitor your aquariums "heart" giving you the chance to fix something before it fails. Saltwater aquariums are notorious for creating calcium and other mineral build up on pumps and there internal parts that can inhibit the flow but more importantly could cause damage to the pump. Neptune Fusion lets you monitor the pumps internal temperature along with its wattage draw and flow rate allowing you to set alarms and alerts if something goes out of their normal thresholds. If the temperature of the pump increases to unsafe levels, the COR will actually slow itself down until temperatures reach a safe level again, giving you time to react and maintain the pump.

Running Low Perfectly (Brand New May 2019) By Jeremy on 5/14/2019Jeremy would recommend this product to a friendI am running two of these Cor20's at 10% and they produce enough flow for my 120gallon. If I crank them up to 100% they are seriously blowing some water. Plumbed with 1" pvc intake and 1 1/4" pvc output. System has only been up for a week so we will see if they last...
Reefers are entitlted By Barrett on 5/2/2019Barrett would recommend this product to a friendThis is a great pump. I have two of them. People are whiney. Buy this pump.
Great pump By SPSnut on 3/11/2019SPSnut would recommend this product to a friendNot much to say - plumbed it. plugged it in. turned it on. silent and great flow.
Quiet, lots of flow, running for 10 months now By Jamie on 3/10/2019Jamie would recommend this product to a friendI have been running this for 10 months now on my 150g reef tank in my living room. Completely silent. Can't understand these reviews about flow. This thing flows great. So many must have no idea how to plumb or how to read the directions on this pump. Love it!
way over rated By sbreefer on 3/1/2019sbreefer wouldn't recommend this product to a friendthese do not put out nearly the advertised flow. and the drivers constantly losing connection with Apex. going back to VECTRA M1.
Is it even running? By Steve on 2/28/2019Steve would recommend this product to a friendThat is what I had to ask myself when I powered in this pump. So quiet and smooth. On my Red Sea, turning it up over 60% was not really necessary as it didn't really up the flow much more. The plumbing is too thin I think. Don't know why people had issues with the plumbing. I just glued in a barb fitting into the one they provided.
Good, quiet pump, the British threads are a PITA By Andy on 2/27/2019Andy would recommend this product to a friendHave 2 of thes pumps, one for backup. Reliable and quiet, but nowhere near the listed output. Also the BSPP fittings are clearly designed to net Neptune more $$ for parts.
Great pump, don't trust the negs By ZimzZoaz on 2/26/2019ZimzZoaz would recommend this product to a friendThis pump rocks. What more do you want. Its quiet. Was easy to set up. Pushes a TON of water (what was that last guy doing - prob had no idea how to plumb or set the level properly on the pump.) If you run the smaller fitting you will get less flow but it comes with a 1.25" union. So use that of course. I bought one at Black Friday. Just saw they were now on sale so thinking about a backup. Then I read some of these reviews...sheez...had to post mine. Great pump.
wouldn't recommend this product to a friend By Randel on 2/16/2019Randel wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have a VECTRA M1 DC (2000 GPH) running my whole system so I want to increase the flow to my main tank by removing some of the t's. I have it feeding different media reactors so I purchase the COR-20 INTELLIGENT RETURN PUMP, what a disappointment it couldn't by itself run my main tank , so now I have it running my media reactors . WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY . Bulkreef should look in to this product it doesn't do what the data chart claims . I wish i could return this product, and get another VECTRA M1.
Great pump. best ive used By Jose R on 2/15/2019Jose R would recommend this product to a friendDon't know how previous could say noisy. this thing is silent. dead. silent. easy to use. i dont have apex yet - just wanted a good pump and this one has been great for almost a year now
Noisy By Krystal on 2/6/2019Krystal wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis return pump is great as far as moving water, but it is incredibly loud.
COR-20 Better than L1 when using APEX By Austin on 1/18/2019Austin would recommend this product to a friendI would highly recommend the COR-20. I was initially hesitant because it looked cheap because of the orange colors so I went with the L1 and I use the ecotech marine battery back up with it for redundancy. After taking a risk and getting the COR-20 for a new tank build, I am more than happy with its versatility and the control I can use with the APEX. In terms of battery back up, I bought a UPC for around $150 which is roughly the same price as the ecotech one, and it works great! I plan on selling my L1 and doing the same situation on my larger display (COR-20 plus UPC). As far as the construction goes, this is the best pump I've owned (20+ years in coral hobby); it obliterated and blew right through the chaeto and bubble algae that went through it while doing a water change. It is a power house that will plan on using on any tank I build in the future. If neptune systems made a COR-10 and COR-5 for smaller applications, I'd never buy another pump again.
TL;DR: Went with a COR-20 instead of L1 (even after owning one) for APEX control and added a UPC for battery backup; never been happier with a pump even after factoring in 20+ years experience in the hobby.
Is there support for a backup battery with COR pumps or is a UPS your only option?
At this point, we do not know of any backup battery in development for this product. A UPS should work fine though.
Have a great day.
When are you expecting to receive this item in your warehouse?
Our current estimate on having the Cor 20 pumps in house is 1/10/2017. Please bear in mind that may change if there are problems with shipping.
Have a great day!
Will the core 20 be compatible with Apex classic?
The Cor series of pumps requires a 1Link connection to be controlled by an Apex. For the Apex Classic, this would require the additional purchase of a 1Link module.
Have a great day.
