Flow Comes Full Circle

  • Versatile Cross-Flow Pump
  • Control with myAI, Mobius, or MXM
  • Four Easy-to-Use Pump Modes
  • Ideal for Aquariums 20 Gallons and Larger

Orbit pumps create a wide cross-flow current that moves water around the aquarium in a more natural, circular pattern. Instead of pushing flow in one narrow direction, Orbit helps move water across the length of the tank, simulating the tidal movement found on ocean reefs while helping lift excess nutrients and debris from the bottom of the aquarium so they can be removed by filtration.

Just like the ocean, a thriving reef aquarium benefits from more than one type of water movement. When used alongside the directional and random flow patterns of other pumps like the AI Nero pump line, Orbit helps create a more complete recreation of reef flow with a mix of broad, directional, systematic, and chaotic movement.

Create Gyre-Style Flow with AI Orbit Pumps

Included Pump Modes

Orbit Cross-Flow Pumps offer several flow modes to match the needs of your reef, including:

  • Constant Speed: A constant stream of flow at the intensity of your choosing.
  • Pulse: Creates uniform high and low flow levels.
  • Random: Simulates a high-energy reef environment.
  • Reverse: Reverses the flow.
Reversible Flow

An interesting feature of the Orbit pump is its ability to spin both forward and backward. This provides unique opportunities for different flow patterns.

The true power of reverse mode is unlocked when combined with a second Orbit pump. While one pump is pushing the flow in a singular cross-flow direction, a second pump can run in reverse mode to help keep the flow moving across the length of the aquarium.
