- Syncra Silent 1.5 Pump (357 GPH) - Sicce
Why does BRS recommend this?

No customer service By Eddie on 3/10/2020Eddie wouldn't recommend this product to a friendSicce has the the worst customer service i have 2 pumps that one is making noise and another that doesn't work even after proper use and cleaning schedule. I Tried to get help and they never tried to help just had me getting all the info they needed and not even BRS helped
No issues, long time user. By Philip on 1/21/2020Philip would recommend this product to a friendBeen using this pump for over a year without any indication it is going to fail. Is silent; was placed inside my sump. I planned for my installation, then once it arrived spent almost no time to setup. Place tubing on pump dropped it in water. I didn't even use the suction cups. I never even think about this pump, and i never perform maintenance.
Noisy By Ari on 5/6/2019Ari wouldn't recommend this product to a friendJust a warning. If you’ve decided to get this pump, don’t ever try submerge it in water unless you’re very sure since BRS will not entertain you if you change your mind on this or any item. It’s not “buy with confidence” or return anytime, well as long as you don’t use it in water! It’s more “try it at your own risk”.
Now, for my review, this pump is noisy. There is a rattling sound that is annoying to hear. As a mater of fact, it’s the smallest pump in my setup and is louder than my skimmer, or any pump that I have. I guess I’m stuck with this. I should have bought it on eBay at least eBay backs you up even amazon.
Good Build Quality, But Impeller Rattles By neoGeorge on 3/17/2019neoGeorge wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI bought this pump to replace one of the stock return pumps in a JBJ 65g flat panel AIO. Build quality looks good, and I expect it will be durable, but it's actually a bit noisier than the stock pump due to an impeller rattle. Since it's no more efficient than the stock pump, the only benefit that I can see at this point is that the tank now has a mix of two different return pumps, so less chance they'll both go out at the same time.
Superb pump By FLSharkvictim on 5/30/2017FLSharkvictim would recommend this product to a friendI use this SYNCRA SILENT 1.5 for my BRS Dual Reactor that I hard plumbed into my sump along with a Spears Gate valve for full control on how much water I push through it. I was using the Cobalt MJ-1200 and this pump is so much nicer and a lot quieter than the MJ-1200. HIGHLY recommend for the BRS Dual Reactor or the Vertex 1.5l media reactor.
Works great By Nick on 4/9/2017Nick would recommend this product to a friendI bought this pump to help with water changes on a 55 gallon tank. I keep my bucket in a bathroom that's about 15 feet from the tank, with a little over 4 feet to the rim of the tank. With the pump dialed all the way up the pressure was just right. The water flow is perfect, not so strong to blow things around in my tank. I will add that I've only used it once so far, but I think that it will work out just fine.
Not reliable By Brent on 3/13/2017Brent wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI was happy with the pump while it worked. However, I've had two of these pumps and on both of them I was forced to replace the impeller after less than 1 year of service. Sicce customer service was basically useless and they exclude impellers from their warranty . Given that the impellers cost $25 each and are hard to find, I won't be buying more Sicce pumps.
Very pleased so far By PaParker on 3/6/2017PaParker would recommend this product to a friendI got this primarily for use in water changes- transferring water out of a 30 gallon drum into another vessel and then from that into the tank. It's actually too strong, even dialed all the way back- i looked at the pump curves and thought i'd be okay at about 4 ft of head but it still puts out lots of water. I'm going to be using it in the sump for the 40b i'm setting up now and have no doubts it will do excellent in this application as well.
gets louder over time By briguy350 on 1/21/2017briguy350 would recommend this product to a friendi was impressed at how quiet this pump was new. now after 2 months of use and a couple of cleanings its got a very loud hum. my 25 fusion is right in my living room and can no longer stand the noise. will not be getting another one.
Return pump for 30 gallon with Durso By Tim on 12/21/2016Tim would recommend this product to a friendJust hooked this up for my 30 gallon tank with 15 gallon sump and durso overflow. It's the perfect return pump for this size tank for anyone that wants to compare. Certainly I can't give a long term assessment but I'm happy so far.
Sicce does it again! By Cyberaquarist on 12/12/2016Cyberaquarist would recommend this product to a friendI replaced the stock return pump in my IM Fusion Lagoon 25 with this pump. The pump is virtually silent and pushes a lot of water. I had to throttle the pump back a good bit, because it was draining the return chamber faster than it could fill up. This is partially due to my media arrangement in the two IM Custom Caddies. You may be able to run the 1.5 at full throttle if you keep your socks or sponges clean all the time. Sicce has a reputation for producing some of the best pump s the n I ythe industry, and this little pump is no exception. It has a 5 year guarantee, so you know it is built with quality components. If you are thinking of buying the his pump, go ahead. It won't let you down.
Quietest Pump By DAVID on 4/3/2016DAVID would recommend this product to a friendI have had Hydra, Rio Plus pumps. This one is MORE quieter than those. I will be buying this pumps for now on else I decide to go to an external pump.
Is there a way to attach 1" braided vinyl tubing to this (or should I order smaller tubing)?
Is this pump suitable to use as the primary return pump in a 72 gallon salt water configuration. My target is approximately 4x tank turnover through a sump.
Due to head pressure on the pump, you will likely be getting less than 288 GPH of flow into the tank. I would recommend the Syncra Silent 2.0 Pump (568 GPH) or Eheim CompactON 2100 (555 GPH) pumps at a minimum to account for the loss of flow from head pressure.
Both of these pumps can be adjusted to decrease the flow if you find they are too powerful. Alternatively, you can install a ball valve like the ones from Two Little Fishies to adjust the flow.
I want to use this pump to feed a Skimz
MONZTER ZM120 EXTERNAL ZEOLITH REACTOR. Can I do it and if so, how?
I want to use this for the BRS duel carbon/GFO reactor as recommended by your company.
How do I attach this to the reactor?
You will only need on fitting listed below.
1⁄2" Male NPT x 1⁄2" Push Connect
Is this pump a direct replacement for the sicce syncra sk 200? I have a seaside aquatics ES5 protein skimmer that needs a new pump?
I'm afraid these pumps are not rated for use as a skimmer pump. They do not have pinwheel impellers for skimmer function and include standard impellers for water movement.
Have a great day!
