  • Not worth the hassle By Rusty on 11/5/2017

I bought these for dosing containers. They are well made but for my application I found they weren't worth it. They are very finicky in keeping a prime and allowing air in to the dosing lines. I found once I got them set it would only be a couple refills before they were jostled around enough to lose prime again. I found it easier to to just run RO tubing straight to the bottom and never have to worry about it again. Wasn't worth the money but it's not like the cost is significant. Keep it simple and by pass these.
  • Great Fittings By KDragon on 10/11/2017

All fittings from BRS are top quality and at a reasonable price.
  • Great item By chris on 6/8/2017

This is a great item for projects like DIY dosing containers, making secure connections for accessories like CaRx effluent line, ATO output lines, and AWC lines. So many uses for such a simple and inexpensive product.
  • Great Product, Reasonable Price By HappyHunter on 5/4/2017

So nice to be able to find the fittings we need at a reasonable price right here at BRS. Thank you.
  • Works OK, not sure I'd buy again By Chris on 12/6/2016

Seems to work as intended, however...

I originally bought this with the 1/4" OD acrylic rod to use with a 5 gallon bucket (so as not to draw off the bottom) and the BRS Top Off Doser (50 mL per minute), however I could not maintain a prime with that setup. There seems to be a problem with the acrylic tube sealing well in the bulkhead and the pump kept losing prime. I replaced the acrylic tube with a regular piece of poly RO tubing and it works fine now.

So, the product seems to work as intended...but I would not have bothered with the bulkhead if I knew it wasn't going to work with the rigid acrylic rod...
  • Handy Fitting to Have By Ted on 10/31/2016

I used it for a top off container it is hooked to a manual float works real good handy fitting just to have for a future project
  • Great Dry Bulkhead Fitting! By Bloody Knuckles on 10/23/2016

Remember this is for DRY applications.

I used it for my RODI containers.

I drilled a hole in the lid of the BRUTE container, attached the fitting, secured the output line and done.

Plenty of other applications, but basically this should be used in the lid of a less than full container of liquid to pump liquid in or out via attached hose and/or tubing.

*works with 1/4 acrylic tube also purchased from BRS, but I didn't need it for my application
  • Good as long as you take the time to make sure it's setup properly. By Chris on 6/23/2016

I bought two of these for my dosing pumps and containers with the intention of using them with the 1/4" rigid acrylic tube into the top of my dosing container. when I first hooked these up they both leaked pretty bad and wouldn't reliably dose my 2-part. For one the acrylic tubing is extremely tight and difficult to insert and remove. I ended up fixing the leaks by making sure my end on the acrylic was exactly flat and I used a small piece of sandpaper to make sure it was absolutely flat and smooth. I then removed the collar on the side opposite of where I put the acrylic and then inserted the acrylic tubing making sure it was completely seated and I couldn't see any of the two O-rings from the top. Similarly I used the tubing cutter available on BRS to make sure the tubing was completely straight. Overall this is a great product for a clean install as long as you are very careful when attaching the tubing especially the rigid acrylic. BTW I had better luck with the clear tubing in the dosing pump rather than the translucent ro tubing.
  • a must have By chris on 4/27/2016

Bought 2 for 2 part dosing system, 1 is leaking, trying to figure a way to seal it without ordering another, don't want to wait for shipping.
  • Just right By Saltchip on 4/15/2016

They work perfectly. 3/4" step bit hole is just right. Will buy more. I am getting the elbows to go with them.
  • Awesome By Randy on 4/13/2016

These worked amazing when I converted the OXO Flip Lock Containers to hold everything I dose.
  • Perfect By Ken on 9/16/2015

It's solid and well built. It keeps an airtight seal, not only at the screw-tight bulkhead, but between the two 1/4" lines. I'm using it on my ATO reservoir and it works perfectly. The pump does not suck any air up with the water and is able to hold that vacuum when the pump stops. Perfectly airtight. I'm ordering more for my Cal and Alk 2-part jugs.

What size drill bit do you need to install these?
Question by: Ryan Rhatican on Apr 14, 2016 8:53:00 AM
Great question!
These will need a hole size of 3/4" for installation. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Do you think this would this work to convert a bottle (e.g., of NO3:PO4-X) to a dosing container, by drilling the lid to accommodate this bulkhead, and attaching a 1/4" Clear Acrylic Tube (your SKU: 207841) of the appropriate length to dangle inside the bottle (also assuming the lid is drilled to allow air in)?

This will work perfect and is its intended application. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Answer by: Connor (Admin) on Apr 26, 2016 12:55:00 PM
Does this have a rubber gasket to prevent leaking. I want to install this on an ATO plastic container.
Question by: shawn on Mar 26, 2017 1:18:00 PM
Hey there,
This bulkhead is only meant for dry, above water applications as the fitting does not have a gasket or o-ring to provide a water-tight seal.

Have a great day!
Answer by: Zack (Admin) on Apr 3, 2017 3:43:00 PM
Get this be used for a wet application if I use a gasket?
Question by: 402jasonn on Nov 8, 2013 2:20:00 PM
Good question. Unfortunately it cannot be as water would still travel through different parts of the fitting. Its meant for non-submerged applications like running a tube through a cabinet, etc.
