- Gate Valve Thread x Thread - Spears
Schedule 80 Spears Gate Valves will provide smooth, lasting operation while giving your aquarium a professional look. Gate valves are used for any application that requires precise control such as skimmers or silent overflows.
- Thread x Thread
- Smooth long-term operation
- Precise tuning
- More professional look than white Schedule 40 PVC
The golden rule of plumbing is that every job takes three trips to the store. While this can be frustrating locally it can be much worse when shopping online. Being short a fitting or two can delay a plumbing project for days. Here are some quick tips to avoid this.
- Plan your plumbing on paper
- Don't skimp on unions. Unions allow for easy breakdown and maintenance as well as remove the need for precise elbow placement. Use them as often as possible.
- When in doubt order extra. We happily accept returns for a full refund (less shipping) on all unused fittings within one month of purchase. A few extra bucks in return shipping is less frustrating than a project delay.

Going Beananinal or Herbie? By ActualProof on 8/28/2018
ActualProof would recommend this product to a friendThis is the gate valve you need right here. I like to use thread x thread valves so that I can reuse them in a different configuration, if need be. Trust that I’ve almost instantly regretted solvent welding slip x slip before!! If you have the room, go threaded and use food-grade Teflon thread sealant instead of the tape. You’ll be so leak-free, people will think you’re a Lexan bottle. -
Excellent flow control By Matt on 6/25/2018
Matt would recommend this product to a friendInstalled three of these on my return manifold for various reactors. Flow control is awesome, much easier to dial in the a ball valve. Get the threaded version in case you want to make changes to plumbing in the future! -
Buy These Valves! By Gary on 5/29/2017
Gary would recommend this product to a friendI'm using two of these Spears Gate Valves on my tank drains to the sump. Really nice quality workmanship on these valves. Getting a good balance of drain vs. fill can be tedious. But with these valves the adjustments are so precise it makes the process easier. I highly recommend these Spears Gate Valves over those cheap ball valves you can find at the big box stores. Buy them. You won't be sorry. -

Best Gate Valve Around By Anne on 10/20/2013
Anne would recommend this product to a friendI've used a few gate valves for different pieces of equipment on my tank and after having one fail and start leaking from the top I ordered this valve in 3/4" threaded fittings. Since this was to replace a valve that was currently running on the tank, I needed it fast. I ordered late Thursday night and had it early Saturday morning.
Installing it was pretty easy and straightforward as you would expect. The valve itself was also the smoothest hate valve I've ever used. It is also nice and tight meaning that I actually feel like I'm moving the gate when I twist the handle. Other valves I've used have turned so freely that it was as if they weren't actually being adjusted (in fact one valve stopped responding to the handle being turned) or others were nearly impossible to turn at all. I will say the one thing I was a little worried about was the amount of resistance I felt when I got the valve almost closed the first time. I actually thought I had cracked the gate but after disassembling the valve (the nuts are a great feature) I found no damage anywhere. After the initial time closing the valve all the way it became just as easy to close the valve as it was to adjust it while it was more open. -

Draining By Trojan on 4/7/2013
