Quick Overview

The Reef Octopus Biopellet Reactor is designed specifically for the use of solid carbon dosing biopellets. Cone bottom design helps to keep the biopellet media in suspension and evenly dispersed. Reactor lids close with fastening screws and a mesh screen contains biopellets while still allowing flow. Available in three sizes.

Full Details

These Revolutionary Media Reactors have a fluidizing cone bottom design to help keep the bio pellet media in suspension and evenly disperse the water upwards, without restricting the flow through the unit. These advanced reactor units also includes fastening screws on the lid for a sure tight seal and a mesh screen to keep the bio pellets within the reactor without the risk of restricting flow or clogging like other media reactors on the market.

  • works but.. By medtoad on 8/25/2017

Had this for a while. Did work to lower my nitrates/phospates I think though I was doing other things as well to lower them. the instructions were not very good and it took a while to figure out how to get the central wand back in without plugging it with biopellats (blow on it as you insert it). If you ever have a pump problem though, you must use all new biopellats or you will NUKE YOUR TANK! My supply pump broke and I got a replacement about 1.5 weeks later. Restarted the system and immediately had a HUGE ammonia spike (and horrible surfer smell) I guess from a all the aerobic bacteria dying in the reactor. Killed my favorite fish (achilles and a Moorish idol) as well as some corals though I turned it off again immediately after noting the problem (20-30 minutes)
  • Amazed! By Greg on 7/9/2017

Finally got a chance to set this up. I'm using a "Syncra Silent 4.0 Pump (951 GPH) - Sicce" to tumble one and a half cups of BRS biopellets. I don't expect it to change as I work up to four cups of pellets over the next month. The curved interior does a great job tumbling. Better than any DYI that I have done. I should have started with it in the beginning. I'm very pleased with my purchase and BRS was great (as always).
