Can a 50W or 80W bulb be used in a 40W light? If not why not? Can the 40W be upgraded to support an 80W bulb by changing the cord and power supply?

The bulbs are not able to be run in different housings even if the power supply is changed. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
