Korallen-Zucht ZEOfood Plus is a biological and nutritional supplement used as part of the ZEOvit system. It helps enhance the activity of beneficial bacteria and promotes the development of an important biofilm while providing additional nutritional support for corals.
When used alongside ZEOvit Media, ZEObak, and ZEOstart, ZEOfood Plus helps support the biological processes at the foundation of the ZEOvit method. Korallen-Zucht also recommends ZEOfood Plus for supporting brilliant coral coloration, including improved pink coloration in Stylophora species.
How the ZEOvit System Works
The ZEOvit system uses beneficial bacteria to help keep nitrate and phosphate at very low levels. Think of it as creating a controlled environment where those bacteria can grow, process nutrients, and help keep the aquarium water clean.
ZEOvit Media provides the surface and filtration environment for the system. ZEObak adds the beneficial bacteria, while ZEOstart helps those bacteria grow and reproduce. ZEOfood Plus provides additional nutrition to support the system and the corals.
As the bacteria grow, they consume nutrients in the aquarium. Agitating the ZEOvit Media helps release accumulated material and bacterial biomass into the water, where it can be removed by the protein skimmer or consumed by corals and other filter-feeding organisms.
The goal is to maintain a stable, low-nutrient environment that supports strong coral coloration and growth without stripping the aquarium of nutrients too quickly.
How ZEOfood Plus Fits Into the ZEOvit System
ZEOfood Plus provides additional biological and nutritional support within the Korallen-Zucht ZEOvit method. It enhances the activity of beneficial bacteria and promotes the development of biofilm while also supporting coral coloration.

Unlike ZEObak, which introduces beneficial bacteria, or ZEOstart, which promotes bacterial reproduction, ZEOfood Plus provides additional support for the biological environment created by the system and helps encourage the development of beneficial biofilm.
Recommended Use
One Week Per Month: Dose 6 drops per 100 L (approx. 26 gallons) of aquarium water daily for one week.
Remaining Three Weeks: Dose 2 drops per 100 L (approx. 26 gallons) of aquarium water 3 times per week.

Product Questions
While the skimmer doe snot need to be turned off it certainly can be to ensure none is removed during the feed time. As for timing often the time is evening when corals will be ready to consume however they will be willing to adapt. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
