    Why does BRS recommend this?

For applications where quiet operation is essential, we highly recommend the Silicone tubing upgrade kit for the BRS reactors.  If your pump is in a tight spot the silicone will help keep things quiet while allowing more flow through the reactor as well.

The BRS Silicone Tubing Upgrade Kit allows you to upgrade your rigid push connect tubing to soft silicone tubing on all BRS reactors. Murlok push-connect tubing is very easy to work with, however sometimes when a tighter bend the rigid tubing may possibly kink, or if the tubing is resting against the side of the sump or tank, a bit of noise may occur. The BRS Silicone Tubing upgrade kit will eliminate any noise coming from the tubing, as well as allow for more flexibility when routing the tubing. Simply use the Stem Adapters to slide it into the push connect fittings on the reactor, and then cut the silicone hose to length and slide over the barbed end of the stem adapter.

The kit will come with 6 feet of silicone tubing, and if more tubing is needed please purchase additional 1/2" Silicone tubing, which we will then be able to send the entire piece of tubing in one piece.
