- ChaetoGro Refugium Fertilizer - Brightwell Aquatics
Increase your chaetomorpha growth with Brightwell ChaetoGro
Balanced and complete nutritional additive for saltwater refugiums, ChaetoGro contains iron, cobalt, molybdenum, and many other elements that algae require for vitality. It is safe for use in any marine aquarium where chaetomorpha is a part of the nutrient reduction system. If your reef is based on an ultra-low nutrient system then a fertilizer for your algae is highly recommended.
- 13 Elements in a balanced formula
- Ideal for ULNS aquariums that utilize a refugium
- Shrimp & invertebrate safe
- Phosphate & Nitrate free
- Safe with all marine aquariums
Three Sizes Available:
Basic: For the first 2 weeks of use, add 5ml (1 capful) of product per 20 US-gallons of aquarium volume twice each week; increase dosage thereafter depending upon perceived nutrient needs of chaeto algae. When used in this fashion, 500 ml treats up to 2,000 US-gallons (7,600 L).
Advanced: Daily dosing is recommended, as it maintains a more stable and natural environment than dosing weekly, in which nutrient concentrations spike just after dosing and then gradually decrease throughout the course of the week. To dose daily, add 6 drops per 20 US-gallons per day; adjust dosing volume after one week in accordance with the appearance of algae and perceived need for nutrients. Important: Brightwell recommends the use of MicroBacter7 and Reef BioFuel or Katalyst to maintain proper carbon levels for the Chaeto, as well as proper bacterial function in the system.
Note: For proper Chaeto growth, Brightwell recommends that the hobbyist maintain a minimum of .01 ppm phosphate and 3 to 5 ppm nitrates in the reef system. If levels fall below these values, proper nutrient control will not efficiently occur. If the levels are low, use NeoPhos or NeoNitro as directed on their labels, as necessary to bring them up to the proper level.

Outstanding! By Julio on 3/3/2020Julio would recommend this product to a friendIf there was a steroid for Chaeto this would be it! If you have a super low nutrient tank this products a must.
I’ve used it on several varieties of macro algeas and the results are dramatic and obvious.
Absolutely the most beautiful, cleanest, crisp dark green cheato Ive ever seen grow. Such a shame I have to throw so much of it away from overgrowth! If you have a a high nutrient aquarium I’d recommmend you use it with microbacter7.
Best stuff for chaeto By Vincent on 2/14/2020Vincent would recommend this product to a friendBefore I added cheatoGro my cheato was not growing at all and turning white after just 3 days of using cheatoGro my cheato turned deep green and 2 weeks later I was having to pull half it out I was running out of room in my hang on the back refug the only thing was my nitrates dropped to nothing now I’m looking to add nitrates also I would buy reef biofuel
Crazy growth By Kyle on 11/5/2019Kyle would recommend this product to a friendThis stuff grow cheato like no tomorrow. Before I added my cheato was slowly falling apart. Now after adding my cheato is super green and strong. Now have to clean my reactor every 2 weeks vs once every 6-7 weeks.
Miracle Grow for your Macros By ninja on 4/14/2019ninja would recommend this product to a friendMy chaeto keeps turning white in my sump, and I have replaced it 2 times already. I was tired of it turning white despite dosing nitrate and feeding a lot. I even upgraded my sump light to the overpriced IM Chaetomax so it's not a lighting issue but supplement issue. I also tried Seachem Flourish but it has copper so I was dosing very very sparingly. I finally bought ChaetoGro supplement by Brightwell Aquatics and within 1 week, my chaeto went from almost white and disintregrating to green and strong. Amazing stuff!
