  • Plug & Play installation with multiple sump setup options
  • Easy fleece-mat replacement system
  • Efficient, high-flow, skimmer friendly, 50 g/m2, non-woven polyester fleece-mat rolls
  • Smart drive unit – connected to the ReefBeat ecosystem
  • Solid-State internal and external water level sensors (no moving parts)
  • Integrated media basket for additional chemical filtration
  • Kink-resistant, corrugated inlet hose with a USA/Metric PVC connector

The ReefMat comes fully assembled, straight out of the box. Designed to hang on a sump wall to conserve space, but also including mounting legs, you can place the ReefMat anywhere you want in your sump that has the space avaialble. Both the drive unit and inlet hose can be positioned on either side of the ReefMat making installation work for any sump set up.

The ReefMat 1200 comes with one 35m fleece roll (Replacement rolls can be found HERE). Each roll should last about 5-8 weeks on a moderately stocked 170 gallon reef system; however, bare-bottom tanks will typically exhaust rolls at a faster rate. Additionally, usage rate may be significantly higher for the first few weeks after installing a ReefMat while your system adjusts to the new level of mechanical filtration.

ReefBeat App

  • One interface for all of Red Sea’s smart devices.
  • Easy set-up and operation.
  • On-line monitoring and notifications.
    • End of roll monitoring
    • Performance log
    • Customized dispensing

ReefBeat gives you timely notifications when the fleece not only needs maintenance, but also if it should get stuck or torn. If any error occurs, the motor will simply not attempt to feed any more fleece until the issue is resolved. The end of Roll Monitor function lets you know the daily average use, and how many days you have left before the filter roll runs out so you can plan ahead.

Product Questions

Is the inlet hose for the 1200 model available to purchase. I have 2 pipes running to my sumo.
Question by: Aaron Desatoff on Mar 5, 2024, 10:52 PM
There is but we do not carry it.
Answer by: Scott F. (BRS Staff) on Apr 5, 2024, 1:16 PM
Is there a way to plumb two tanks into the reef mat 1200 and if so, would it be best to use two return pumps?
Question by: Susan Smith on Jan 6, 2024, 9:31 AM
We would recommend having two smaller Reefmats to use on their own tank rather than have two tanks share one larger one.
Answer by: Laura (BRS Staff) on Feb 8, 2024, 2:56 PM
How do I connect this fleece roller to my Waterbox Aquarium 150.4 to my main drain which is 40mm/1-1/2” ?
Thank you
Question by: Hiram Garcia-Rivera on Nov 21, 2023, 9:44 PM
The inlet for this fleece roller is 1" so you would need a reducer to get down to that size.
Answer by: JJ Kress (BRS Staff) on Jan 19, 2024, 8:25 AM
Do you guys carry the replacement rolls. I noticed a link in the 500 series but not one for the 1200. Thanks
Question by: Anthony on Jan 21, 2023, 7:04 PM
Do you have in stock a 90 degree elbow that will fit into the intake for reducing space it takes up in the sump? For a more vertical intake.
Question by: Tim on Nov 20, 2022, 8:50 PM
What are the size of plumbing in inches. All my plumbing is 1.5" Just wondering if I'd have to reduce my plumbing or convert it to metric to use this. I'm thinking the 1200 for my 340 gallon display.
Question by: Travis Kvanvig on Aug 2, 2022, 8:55 PM
The inlet tubing for the ReefMat 1200 is 1", so if your existing plumbing is 1.5", you will need a reducer.
Answer by: Scott Forst (BRS Staff) on Aug 3, 2022, 2:42 PM
Is there a suggested water depth range for this filter? The water level in my sump can be adjusted from about 7 to 10 inches.
Question by: Neil on Jul 29, 2022, 6:58 PM
Since the water gets into the ReefMat directly through a tube, there is no specific water level requirement.
Answer by: Scott F. (BRS Staff) on Aug 3, 2022, 5:36 PM
In the Details tab under notes it states the following: Note: Suitable for saltwater aquariums only.

Can I use this in a fresh water aquarium? What makes it only suitable for saltwater aquariums only?

Thank you.
Question by: Koob on May 27, 2022, 12:32 AM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. As you can see from the product page, this roller is "suitable for saltwater aquariums only." The water level sensor is a conductivity (salinity) meter, designed to easily and reliably detect if the titanium probes are in seawater or air. This system will not detect fresh or brackish water.

Does this come with the install kit to remove the filter sock section?
Question by: Ian Dallas on Apr 2, 2022, 9:23 PM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, that is not something it will come with.

Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!
Answer by: Matt Lucero (BRS Staff) on Apr 8, 2022, 8:03 AM
Is there a recommended or maximum flow rate that this device can handle?
Question by: James LaFrance on Feb 24, 2022, 5:28 PM
Hey James, thanks for the question! These will be rated for 2380GPH
Answer by: James Johnson (BRS Staff) on Mar 8, 2022, 4:09 PM
Height of unit please?
Question by: Melvin George Keim on Jan 3, 2022, 8:32 AM
Here is the link for the spec sheet on both units available from Red Sea for reference. There are many options to consider when installing the unit for operation. You will need clearance height for changing out the filter roller and associated plumbing as well.
