The Nyos Torq is an innovative high-performance system reactor in a modular design for all types of filter media, such as active carbon, phosphate remover (GFO), zeolite and bio pellets.
Filter media are an essential part of maintaining good water quality in an aquarium. They help remove excess pollutants and raise water quality. Often media are simply placed in filter bags, this leads to channeling where all the media does not come into contact with the water. Leaving its full capacity unused.
Nyos has developed the innovative Torq system reactor as a simple and elegant solution to the problem of aquarium filtration. The Torq produces an even water flow throughout the chamber giving ideal conditions for any choice of filter media.
The Nyos TORQ is an innovative system reactor for all types of filter media. The Torq Dock is equipped with an integrated pump and constitutes the base unit. The Dock is equipped with a universal connector, which allows Torq reactor bodies of all available sizes to be inserted.
With the Nyos TORQ, we have deliberately avoided screws, hoses and valves. Allowing, filter media to be changed in seconds with ease and free of frustration.
The required pump is already included in the Torq Dock. Simply place the body with the medium on the Dock and insert. Done.
One reactor, two media - In the Torq bodies 1.0 and 2.0, it is possible to use two different filter media at the same time by inserting a chamber separator.
By turning the cap it is possible to seamlessly adjust and precisely control the flow with a hand, without reaching into the water. The sophisticated controllability means the flow speed can be optimally set to the type and amount needed by the respective filter medium.

Looks Nice But... By Joel on 7/12/2020Joel wouldn't recommend this product to a friendAs others have said the design looks sleek and it is a great concept. However it does not deliver on the effectiveness. I like another reviewer mentioned had a terrible time getting the body to adjust the flow. When I first put the base in the sump it worked really well but after a week of it being in the sump I could no longer hold the base steady while I tried to twist the canister to hold the flow. After a few minutes of struggling I was able to get it properly adjusted. When I went to clean the canister after the second use the bottom plate came apart from the inner pole making the canister useless. Now I either have to invest another $125 in a new canister or get a different reactor all together. I do not think it will be a difficult choice.
Does not work as advertised. By Peter on 1/7/2020Peter wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThe concept behind this reactor is great and it does look very sleek, however, it is extremely difficult to adjust the reactor flow rate. It is a two hand job to hold down the base and then twist the canister to adjust the flow. The rubber feet make it even more difficult as it slides around on acrylic quite badly.
Horrible Design By Steven on 11/27/2019Steven wouldn't recommend this product to a friendIt’s pretty but the design doesn’t work. Unfortunately I bought without looking at reviews on R2R which day the same thing.
It just doesn’t work. The sponges are too loose to hold media in place and the design causes the carbon to tumble.
I loaded it up with media and the sponges collapsed and all my GFO fell out.
