Move up to 4500 GPH with only 32 watts!
Recommended Tank Size - 80 - 500+ Gallons
- Adjustable magnetic mount
- Rare earth magnets
- Compact and powerful
- Silent operation
- Includes Octo Pulse Controller
- 4 preset pulsing modes
- 0-10V control
- 15 and 60 minute feed modes
Fully controllable and efficient the Octo Pulse 4 only consumes up to 32 watts of power but produces a nice broad flow that your fish and corals will love. The flow is pushed throughout your tank, eliminating "hot spots" and keeping your corals from being blasted. Direct your water flow right where you need it with 360° magnetic mounting and a powerful 1600 GPH from the Reef Octopus Octo Pulse Wave Pumps. Using a convex/concave mounting system the Octo Pulse pumps are able to be angled into almost any position you need. The angle can be changed up to 25 degrees and also completely rotated 360 degrees.
Octo Pulse Control
Since every aquarium is different, the Octo Pulse powerheads include a controller that has 4 preset pulsing patterns that can create a wave or surging effect throughout your tank. Easy one-touch feed modes will shut the pumps off for 15-60 minutes which is perfect for feeding or general maintenance.
Universal 0-10V Control
If you use an Apex Controller or another style that has a 0-10v port, you can unlock additional features. Create custom flow patterns throughout the day, but also synchronize your powerheads with the other equipment powered by the controller.

Best pumps on the market By Jeff on 5/28/2020Jeff would recommend this product to a friendI'm a Tunze guy and love my 6105s coupled with gyres. These have a much smaller footprint in the tank and move a TON of water. Completely silent. I've replaced my Tunze with these and am very happy. Added a hydros wave engine and the control is awesome. These are one of the best water movers on the market right now. Add a couple gyres as well and you have about as perfect of flow as possible.
Great By Kurtis on 11/15/2019Kurtis would recommend this product to a friendBought this last year on Black Friday and just plugged it in a week ago for some circulation in my new 180 build. THIS THING MOVES WATER! Even at half speed it’s moving water 6’ away at a heavy flow rate. Could be a bit quieter but hardly noticeable unless turned all the way up. And is comparable to the noise my gyres make. Best feature is it’s easier to use/program than EcoTech, maxspect gyres, or ice cap gyres.
Octo Pulse 4 Wave Pump - Wonderfully quiet! By Andrew on 11/1/2019Andrew would recommend this product to a friendI have 240g and this works great and is so QUIET. In my opinion, it is way better than the maxspect (so noisy - could hear upstairs behind closed doors).
Massive Flow By James on 4/3/2019James would recommend this product to a friendThis thing has flow for the buck.
This thing has a LOT of flow. Too much for my Reefer 350 at max setting. I have it reduced to the lowest setting to 1/4 depending on what I'm doing. The only downside to this powerhead is that even at 3-4inches below the surface, it can still suck air tornados down into it.
I have it push water across the front of the tank and let the dispersed flow hit everything else.
I had it set to max, reached in, grabbed it off the glass to blow some stuff off the bottom, and it felt like I was holding a 10lb weight because of the flow.
Tons of flow By Jeffrey Lebowski on 2/28/2019Jeffrey Lebowski would recommend this product to a friendI have to agree with the others. I added two of these to a reefer 450. Even at that the lowest setting (30%), they're almost too strong for my tank. They put out way more flow then the MP40s in my tank. The Pulse 2 might have been a better option.
Awesome pump, more powerful then you may think! By chris on 2/22/2019chris would recommend this product to a friendI bought 2 of these for my Reefer 425 which is 88 gallon. With both turned on the lowest setting it's just too much. When I fired them both up on high for the first time my tank looked like a jacuzzi! Very quiet and easy to work with like all the RO equipment that I have used. I will be switching one of them out for the 2 as both running on the lowest setting are just too much.
One grip is the power line from the pump to the controller could be a little longer. These are for big tanks. I had to move my controller from where I wanted to put it because the line is a little short.
Octopulse 4 By Ralph on 12/18/2018Ralph would recommend this product to a friendMoves a ton of water , even on the lowest setting, I have two in a 90 gallon and had to shut one off , way to much flow , dead silent also , will probably switch to the octopulse 2
Very quite and powerful pump By Mac on 9/22/2018Mac would recommend this product to a friendI have a RedSea Reefer350 and have both the Reef Octopus return pump and skimmer. The Octo 4 had to much flow even on the lowest setting but was very quite. I now have the Octo 2 and is running at the highest speed and just right flow for my tank. These pumps are dead silent and Very user friendly.
First day By JOE on 9/15/2018JOE would recommend this product to a friendMy review is the same day I received my unit.
I’m very impressed with the amount of movement this pump puts out I have a 150 72” long tank and pump in high would probably be the only pump you would need. I have two mp40s qd and this pump moves the same amount of water as both my ecotech pumps. I hope they last as long as my ecotech too, guess I will find out lol.
But I have two mp40s in one side of the tank and the octo on the opposite end and I only run on 40% I have it pointing up for more top water movement, working like a champ. Does have a small him to it but it’s not to bad. I’d definitely recommend this.
