The 1K Gyre Generation pump from IceCap uses the same technology and water movement theory as the Maxspect Gyre but at a much better value. The 1K Gyre pump pushes a "sheet" of water across your tank virtually eliminating any dead spots with minimal amounts of flow. Compared to other traditional propeller style powerheads, the Gyre produces an even, linear flow that doesn't create any direct hot spots or dead spots.

The Gyre controller gives you 5 different modes of flow throughout a 24-hour programming cycle that you can tailor to your tanks needs, including a pre-set 10-minute feed mode. Included is a mounting bracket for the controller that secures the head unit anywhere you desire. The low profile of the 1K Gyre pump allows it to fit in tight spaces, and the magnetic mounting system makes installation a snap.

Unforutanely there is not an extension for the IceCap Gyre. However, the Maxspect Gyre does have extensions.

Hello I have a 32 Biocube and was considering buying this. Would it be too much flow? At the moment I have a Koralia in there. Thank you
Question by: Diane Liner on Jun 14, 2019, 6:17 AM
Hey there-

Thank you for reaching out to us! The Icecap Gyre 1K would be great as you are generally aiming for around 30-50x tank turnover (960gph-1,600gph), If you have any other questions let us know.

Happy reefing! :)

What's the minimum flow rate? Also curious as to how many steps it has til max flow. Asking for us pico/sub 20g folks.
Question by: Brandon Lolling on Feb 21, 2018, 7:44 PM
Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I reached out to CoralVue for info and here is the info they provided:
The pump runs in 10 levels with level one starting at about 500gph to level 10 at 1000gph. That is with twin blades. So if you run theGyre 1K with a single propeller level one could be 250gph max output on level one and max at level 10 of 500gph single propeller.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Have a great day!
