Product Questions

So I understand the metric segment is a male connector, or “spigot”. Is the Imperial/U.S. section male or female connector? I’m specifically looking at the 40mm to 1.25” version.
Question by: Matthew on Dec 18, 2023, 7:09 PM
Hey there, both sides will be a spigot fitting so they will need mate up with a slip fitting on both sides. Thanks!

Do you have anything that will allow me to connect the 25 mm O.D. return nozzle on my Red Sea Reefer 525 XL to a 3?4” LOC-LINE male NPT connector?
Question by: Matthew Powell on Mar 25, 2017, 9:45 AM
Hey there,
All of the conversion adapters we sell come with slip x slip connections, so you will need to adapt to a threaded fitting to use the loc-line npt fitting, but we do sell a conversion union here https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vertex-conversion-union.html which would allow you to go from 25mm slip to 3/4" slip.

Hope this helps!

Not sure I'm clear on what I need. I have a Red Sea Reefer 250. My drains are metric. The backup overflow pipe is a 25mm "outside diameter" and the main overflow pipe is a 32mm "outside diameter" pipe. Do I need the below SKUs or do I....... also ........need a coupler/pipe with this as the inside diameter to join them my current pipe to these couplers?

300261 - 25mm to 3/4"
300257 - 32mm to 1"

Great question!
With what you have described the OD needing to be 25mm the SKU 300261 (25mm to 3/4") will be perfect!
The 25 mm side of this adapter is the same OD as 25 mm and can be glued in place as long as you have the bulkhead to glue into. The 3/4" size will actually be female slip and accept a 3/4" piece of PVC pipe to be glued in it. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Question#1: For the following product 20mm to 1?2" Metric to Standard PVC Adapter SKU: 300260, what is the inner diameter and outer diameter measurement values (in mm units) of the adapter's 20mm metric side? I am attempting to adapt a Royal Exclusive media reactor inlet pipe (20mm outer diameter).

Question#2: For the following product 25mm to 3?4" Metric to Standard PVC Adapter SKU: 300261, what is the inner diameter and outer diameter measurement values (in mm units) of the adapter's 25mm metric side? I am attempting to adapt a Royal Exclusive media reactor inlet pipe (20mm outer diameter).

I appreciate your response.

Great question!
The Metric side of the PVC conversion adapter will be labeled as the outside diameter. The 20 mm to 1/2" will be 20 mm outside an slip / glue into a coupler which needs to be a 20mm inside diameter coupler. The inside diameter of the 20mm will not fit into the 20 mm od pipe on your royal exclusive. the inside diameter of the 20 mm will be around 16 mm. For the 25 mm adapter this is not one we would recommend as the 25 mm side is the same diameter as a metric 25 mm pipe and will need a coupler to attach. The inside diameter is around 19mm. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
