How Cool Are the Bubble Magus Z-Series Protein Skimmers!

Bubble Magus went back to the drawing board and came up with the Z Series Protein Skimmers to fill the need for something small but mighty that can filter reef aquariums when space is limited. The profile is most certainly unique but originates from something very familiar to reef tank owners everywhere. Take your classic wineglass-shaped venturi protein skimmer body, cut it in half and you get the Z series.

In addition to the slimmed-down profile, Bubble Magus pushed the envelope even further with some very clever changes to further compact the overall impression. They recessed the airline channel, built the air silencer into the collection cup, developed a belt-driven outlet adjustment, and nestled the needle-wheel pump inside the skimmer body. The collection cup was extended so you're not limited with skimmate volume and you get a drain port for connection with an external collection chamber too.

You have the option of an AC-powered pump to keep the price down or a non-controllable DC-powered pump for more efficient electrical consumption and reduced noise level. Your dollar always goes a long way with Bubble Magus and the skimmers cap out just over $200 and will realistically filter most any saltwater tank up to +/- 75 gallons.
