The Maxspect JUMP protein skimmer series takes a different approach to aquarium filtration. Its patented dual-intake, dual-needle-wheel design pulls water into the pump from both sides, producing a dense mixture of fine bubbles that helps remove dissolved organic waste before it can break down inside the aquarium.

Available in three sizes, the JUMP lineup combines efficient DC-powered performance with precise control, built-in protection, quiet operation, and a sump-friendly footprint.

Built to Make Skimming Easier

Dual Intake & Dual Needle Wheels

Water enters from both sides of the pump and passes through two needle wheels to create a high-density cloud of fine bubbles.

Precise DC Control

Adjust pump output from the included controller, then fine-tune the internal water level using the front-mounted adjustment dial.

Built-In Overflow Protection

A sensor inside the collection cup can stop the pump when the cup is full, helping prevent messy skimmer overflows.

Quiet & Easy to Maintain

Sine-wave pump technology supports near-silent operation, while quick releases make routine cleaning and maintenance more convenient.

What Makes the Dual-Intake Design Different?

A protein skimmer works by mixing aquarium water with air to create thousands of tiny bubbles. Dissolved organic compounds collect on the bubble surfaces and rise into the collection cup, where they can be removed from the aquarium.

Maxspect's dual-intake pump draws water from two sides and processes it through two needle wheels. This creates smaller, more densely packed bubbles with more available surface area for collecting organic waste. An integrated bubble trap also helps reduce the number of microbubbles escaping into the sump.

Choosing a skimmer size: Aquarium ratings change with bioload. For a heavily stocked reef or fish-only system, use the heavy bioload rating rather than the maximum light bioload capacity. Always confirm that the skimmer's footprint, height, and recommended operating depth will work inside your sump.
