Hanna Instruments Marine Algae & Nutrient Management Kit
- Includes: Phosphate Ultra Low Range & Nitrate High Range Hanna Checkers
- Ideal for Any Saltwater Aquarium
- Easy-to-Read Digital Test Results
- Simple One-Button Design
This bundle includes the Marine Phosphate Ultra Low Range (HI774) and Marine Nitrate High Range (HI782) checkers plus the required reagents to perform 25 tests each.
Managing phosphate and nitrate levels is one of the keys to keeping your tank looking its best. Too much, and you’re fighting algae. Too little, and your corals can suffer. This kit takes the guesswork out of nutrient testing and gives you the tools to dial in your system and keep things stable.
Designed for hobbyists who want dependable results without the hassle of titration testing or subjective color charts, Hanna Checkers are a go-to testing option with less chance for user error. Each Checker features a simple one-button operation and a digital readout that eliminates the need to interpret color changes. This makes them ideal for reefers of all experience levels and especially handy for those who are color blind.
Testing Tips:
- Always ensure the sample is free of debris before testing.
- Never rinse cuvettes with tap water or tank water. Use RO/DI water to prevent contamination.
- Use clean, dry cuvettes for every test. The outside of the cuvette must be completely dry and free of fingerprints, oil, or dirt before inserting it into the checker.
- Wipe the cuvette thoroughly using a lint-free cloth prior to testing.
- Avoid shaking the cuvette, as this can create bubbles that may lead to falsely high readings. Instead, swirl gently or tap lightly to release any trapped air bubbles.
- Do not let the reacted sample sit too long after adding the reagent, as this may affect the accuracy of the results.
- Discard the sample immediately after the reading. Leaving the solution in the cuvette can stain the glass and compromise future tests.
