  • Questionable By Terri on 5/16/2015

The first probe worked well for quite a long time. Then it started reading 109, 114, and 104. So I purchased this again. No luck...unit is still reading 109, etc. I am currently using a digital readout heater until I can figure what's going on:9(
  • works great!! By Richard on 12/8/2014

Love this because my my chiller and heater don't have good temp probes so using this with my reef keeper keeps thing steady!!
  • Digital Aquatics product By Joe on 3/15/2013

Replacing temp probe that has been working flawlessly for many years. Looking for many more years of good servive from a Digital Aquatics product.
  • ahh just right By Bruce on 8/1/2012

the accuracy of this probe is second to none and it stays consistent. I'm done using cheap built in temp controllers
  • Reliability issues... By Lucas on 7/17/2012

I had a RKL temp probe fail on me recently within six months of it coming out of the box (which led to a semi-tank-crash). While I think the RKL in general is a great value, these probes are not the most reliable, and I have concerns about salt creep affecting accuracy, even on a short term basis. I bought another one because they are a good price, but I'll be exploring more reliable alternatives.
  • Great temp probe By Brian on 12/20/2011

Great for keeping accurate temps in the tank. The only bad comment that i would make is that the temp probe only seems to last 1 year. I purchased the reefkeeper about a little over a year ago and the temp started reading crazy numbers like over 100 degrees. Ordered another temp probe and everything seems to be working great now.
  • Always accurate By Christopher Kosak on 10/7/2010

I have used my reefkeeper lite specifically for temp control and light timers. I switched from the pinpoint monitor for temp to this and I will NEVER go back. This product is very accurate and stable! No more worrys about temp after you set this up!

Product Questions

I'd like to buy this probe for my ReefKeeper Lite controller. Your BRS video with Ryan shows him calibrating the probe by using a digital thermometer and then just typing in the setting on the controller. Does this mean that it doesn't require calibration solution? I also have the same question about the Neptune pH probe replacement.
Question by: Eric on Jun 6, 2016 4:37:00 PM
Hey there,
A temperature probe will not need any solution, just match to a standard digital thermometer for accuracy. pH probes on the other hand will need to be calibrated using pH 7.0 and 10.0 solutions.

What is the difference between the temp probe for the lite version and the elite version?
Question by: Tristan Beligan on Jun 24, 2016 2:55:00 AM
Temp probe for the lite will plug into any of the ports such as the power bar. the Elite probe is a different adapter for use with the elite or SL2 module.

Is this Digital Aquatics iTemp Temperature Probe for ReefKeeper Systems the RJ-11 Connector type?
Question by: Christopher on Oct 28, 2013 1:46:00 PM
Correct, this is the iTemp probe. Important thing to keep in mind is that it is only compatible with the reef keeper lite units and you can only have 1 on a system.
