The AvidAqua InSight is a full-color touchscreen display designed to give Apex users a clear, always-visible view of their aquarium data without needing to pull out a phone or tablet. Clean, minimalist, and button-free, InSight delivers a modern alternative to traditional controller displays while fitting seamlessly into today’s aquarium setups.

Rather than duplicating what Apex Fusion already does, InSight enhances it. Any parameter visible in your Apex Fusion dashboard can be displayed on the InSight screen, from temperature and pH to calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium when paired with a Trident tester. It gives reef keepers a simple way to keep critical information in view at all times, especially in high-traffic areas of the home.

InSight connects wirelessly using Apex Local. As long as the InSight and your Apex are on the same WiFi network, they communicate without a physical cable between them. This opens up flexible placement options well beyond the controller cabinet, making InSight useful for tanks with remote sumps or filtration rooms.

Setup and customization are handled through the MyAquarium app, where users choose which widgets appear on the home screen and tailor the display to show what matters most.

Mounting & Placement Options

InSight and InSight Pro can be installed in multiple ways to match different setups and preferences:

• Table Stand: Ideal for desks, countertops, nightstands, or shelves.
• Panel Mount: A low-profile option for controller boards or cabinetry.
• ModMag Magnetic Mount Compatibility: Works with AvidAqua’s modular magnetic mounting system for easy placement and repositioning on tanks or controller boards (ModMag is sold separately).

Because InSight does not require a direct cable connection to the Apex, it can be placed wherever it is most useful, whether that is next to the display tank, in a home office, or even on the nightstand in your bedroom.

InSight Pro

The InSight Pro includes everything found in the standard InSight, plus built-in sensors that monitor the surrounding room environment. In addition to displaying Apex parameters, InSight Pro tracks:

• Ambient Room Temperature
• Humidity Levels
• CO2 Levels
• VOCs (volatile organic compounds)

Room-level CO2 monitoring is especially valuable for reef keepers chasing stable pH. Elevated indoor CO2 is a common cause of chronically low aquarium pH, and InSight Pro provides real data to help identify the issue and evaluate whether solutions like CO2 scrubbers are worth implementing.

VOC monitoring adds a new layer of environmental awareness around the aquarium. Cleaning products, aerosols, and off-gassing from furniture or paint have always existed around tanks, but they have rarely been measured. InSight Pro opens the door to better understanding how the home environment may impact aquarium health over time.
