Energy Bar 832
The completely redesigned Energy Bar 832 now has eight individual, 7 amp relayed outlets letting you use any outlet for any device. Each individual outlet can also monitor and detect power usage in amps or watts, letting you set alarms and send emails when pumps have clogged or failed, lights are not turning on, heaters leaking current, letting you be notified of the issue before it becomes a problem. With electricity costing more and more money per Kilowatt hour having the ability to monitor each pump, heater, and light lets you now make better decisions on the overall value of your equipment.
Each Energy Bar 832 is equipped with two 24VDC accessory ports that can power small pumps, solenoids, fans and more, while the built in 100W DC power supply lets you control up to 3 1Link accessories like the WAV circulation pumps, and DOS fluid metering system without the need of any additional power supplies or consuming additional outlets. The EB832 also has 3 AquaHub connections letting you expand to any existing or upcoming module making your Apex System truly limitless.
Neptune didn't stop there, with an all new mounting system on the Energy Bar orients the power strip in the correct direction keeping cords neat and tidy. While the outlets have a bit wider spacing, and orientated opposite of each other keeping room for those bulky transformers, allowing you to plug in almost anything you want, where you want.
1x Energy Bar 832
1x 3ft Aquabus Cable
Note: The Energy Bar 832 is not compatible with Classic Apex Controller Systems.
very disappointed By Raheem on 6/21/2020Raheem wouldn't recommend this product to a friendpurchased mine about 3 months ago and it stopped working already. Worst investment I've made thus far in this hobby. Would never recommend this to anyone.
Not Reliable By Matthew M. on 6/18/2020Matthew M. wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have 3 of these running on a 200 gallon mixed reef. All 3 had the same ports die after 2 years. My lights stopped turning on along with other equipment. Now I have to run splitters just to get the equipment to work. Stay far away if you want to make sure your precious animals are reliably taken care of.
Power ports dying after 2 yeras By mav1ms on 5/13/2020mav1ms wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have had two ports die on this after 2 years. They died within a week of each other. I am sure there will be others that die at this point. This is not worth the $300 after shipping and taxes if you have to replace it every two years. You would be better off with a mechanical timer for those items that need simple on at this time off at this time.
Wish I read the reviews...sigh By Boneless3vil on 4/22/2020Boneless3vil wouldn't recommend this product to a friendMine is slowly, but surely dying. I purchased it in 2017. Even then, is 3 years all the service I can expect from a $250 surge protector? Obviously, it’s more complex than the $20 variety powering my Xbox, but still. Currently, 3 sockets are dead, with more on the way, occasionally turning off the skimmer and/or main pump. Needless to say, those are going to a separate power source. Does anyone’s issues go further than the sockets failing? Love to know.
Unreliable, stick to the EB8 By James on 3/10/2020James wouldn't recommend this product to a friendMy EB832 has been online for a total of two years and has catastrophically failed twice in that time. Each time Neptune has RMA'd the device for a fee of $50 (plus the cost of shipping back to Neptune). I've asked Neptune to provide a root cause analysis or at a minimum an explanation of the part that broke and was replaced. Neither time did they answer and simply replied that they didn't have any notes. If the EB832 had failed in the off state it wouldn't be as bad. Instead I arrived home and found it cycling every outlet on and off. I'm now about $390 into this and don't trust this brick anymore. I'll be selling it and relying on my older EB8's.
Energy bar died By James on 12/9/2019James wouldn't recommend this product to a friendMy wife bought me the system about three years ago. After three years of planning I finally got my reef aquarium started and opened up the system. It worked for about 2 weeks and there was a power outage and now the energy bar does not work. Very disappointed.
Not Reliable By Mike on 10/20/2019Mike wouldn't recommend this product to a friendtoo many of these have failures... after a power loss it's a 50/50 chance if the eb832 will come back on properly. I've had to reload firmware several times to get it work again, I've also had unit's that have completely just died.
Energy bar 832 By Vic on 10/4/2018Vic wouldn't recommend this product to a friendAfter about a year the energy bar crapped out. Comes up with a overload code. Tried several times to update and clear with no success. What junk !!!!
APEX By MARIO on 12/2/2017MARIO would recommend this product to a friendFirst week
First week running this Unit, after a few mishaps, You tube only shows the most basic steps, missing some in between, my son was able to decipher and made the necessary adjustments it now , runs perfect. In hind-sight I should purchase 2 bars. In a nut shell is very well thought out. It makes my life much easier
Energy Bar 832-Neptune Systems By Vapor160 on 10/7/2017Vapor160 would recommend this product to a friendSo useful I bought a second one. I like the controlability this offers me. Obviously works great with the system.
Energy Bar 832 - Neptune Systems By vapor160 on 8/25/2017vapor160 would recommend this product to a friendBest thing I did was switch to the Apex system. I know have instant access to all of my devices. really helped while I calibrated some of as I could turn stuff on and off with my phone. no need to go digging around for cords or surge protector switches. can't wait to add more stuff to these handy gadgets.
I bought a spare By Randall on 8/8/2017Randall would recommend this product to a friendBeen using an Apex for about 3 months now with no problems at all with the energy bar. All outlets work perfectly, as do the 24V plugs and the 1Link plugs. Bought a spare though, just in case, because it this thing goes bad, I'll need to replace it pronto.
What is the length of the power cord?
Thank you for reaching out with your question. The EB832 has a 6 foot power cord and also comes with a 3 foot Aquabus cable.
I'm guessing so, but will the head unit and all accessories for the new apex package be available for purchase separately?
Eventually you will be able to buy the head unit separately (I don't have an exact ETA, yet). The accessories will be available sooner as individual products.
Can I have two energy bars hooked up to since apex controller ?
You are able to connect two energy bars to a single Apex system. Have a great day!
Can I use this instead of the 4 outlet strip on a Apex Jr.?
How does this connect/ interact with my existing apex Neptune system
The Energy Bar 832 is not compatible with existing Apex "classic" units at this time. If you have any other questions, let us know!
What is the maximum amp draw for the EB832?
