Lunar lighting can replicate your animals natural environment. By simulating lunar cycles in your aquarium you can help encourage breeding of fish and spawning of corals. The Lunar Simulator LED lights can be connected directly to the Neptune Systems LSM module with any Apex Controller system.
Good night light By Lawrence on 11/28/2016Lawrence would recommend this product to a friendneeds a longer lead or better yet it needs a ex extension
Nice leds little expensive. By RJ on 7/29/2016RJ wouldn't recommend this product to a friendNice leds, its true 3 leds do a 6 foot tank just great. Literally plug and play. Cord is a little short had to buy an extension. It is disappointing there is no hanging hardware. So be prepared to have some double sided tape or screws... Etc.
Overall. I'd probably buy again at this point. Perfect for viewing tank at night
It's cool.... By Patrick on 7/15/2015Patrick would recommend this product to a friendI am not trying to get corals to breed or lay eggs. I just wanted something to light up the tank at night so I can see the critters that come out then. It is tied to the lunar calendar and it follows the cycles of the moon so some nights it is super bright others it is pretty dim. It is pretty darn cool even though it is pretty unnecessary. I am really glad I got it so I can see the corals at night. They are very bright I have 3 over a 100 gallon tank 4 feet by 2 feet. Anymore and I think it would be too much and not give that cool moon glow.
great By andrewnemeth3 on 6/4/2015andrewnemeth3 would recommend this product to a friendAwesome lights great look to them
Easy By Andrewnemeth3 on 6/4/2015Andrewnemeth3 would recommend this product to a friendCant get any easier that this product. Full plug and play and with the lighting wizard there is no programming.
Plug and Play By Thomas on 4/6/2015Thomas would recommend this product to a friendi recently reprogrammed my Apex controller to simulate the actual timing of sunrise/sunset via the "If SUN" command. In doing so, I thought, well if I replicate the du 's cycle, why not the moon as well!
Fast forward to the arrival of my LSM module and two-string (LED) moonlights.
You might be asking yourself, "is it difficult to install/program?" The answer is: Nope! The product is as described in my subject line i.e. Plug & Play. The Apex unit does all the heavy lifting for you! My moonlights were up and running in no time flat thanks to the awesome design of Neptune's Apex controller.
Great looking moon lights By Ray on 1/30/2015Ray would recommend this product to a friendEasy to setup. Plug in, Apex will add the program for you. The color on the lights is great. The only problem is that I would like more wire between the bulbs. It works great in a hood, but if you are using any kind of gooseneck mount, you will end up with a wire draped from one gooseneck to the other. Great system other than that.
easy By ward on 12/23/2014ward would recommend this product to a friendPretty cool. Just plug it in and the system recognizes it. I use the default program they have on it and have found no need to change it.
Great lights By Mark on 11/21/2014Mark would recommend this product to a friendI use the three light one over my 180 and it is strong enough that it lights up the tank very well.
Beautiful By Christian on 9/26/2014Christian would recommend this product to a friendHave mine set to follow the season table, but also falls back to 1% when all other lighting is off. Tank is in the study off our master bedroom, and the light dims low enough as not to disturb the wife at night. With Apex, you have full control of how the LSM performs. Great product!
Would recomended By Mark on 9/17/2014Mark would recommend this product to a friendI got the 3 led for my 180 gallon tank and it is perfect. Lights up the tank nicely .
Good but not the Best Apex Component By Greg on 8/11/2014Greg would recommend this product to a friendWhile the unit is simple and easy to set up. The light strings could be better. Having a form of modularity would really have helped as the strings aren't one size fits all. I bought a two light string as it was the recommended for a 48" tank. With my Kessil pendants I've had issues placing the moonlights in a way that gives perfect coverage. Also a disconnect near the hood would have been nice as to remove the hood you have to remove the lights first. I'm sure I can rig something over time but these seem to be low hanging fruit options.
Ask a question
It can be used with a single string of LED's. If you want more LED"s you just use an LED string that has more LED's on it.
Each module will only have the option for one input for a single string. We do not carry a direct extension for the Lunar cable however since you will need 2 modules you can use a longer aquabus cable to handle the length. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
It can be programmed to run the lunar cycle with the different phases of the moon. This can be programmed to run in accordance what the actual moon outside is currently at. This will not need to be touched after the initial programming is set.
It is up to how much light, we would ideally recommend three to 4 total, not more than 4 LED's. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
1. The distance between the lunar lights is approximately 24" apart
2. The length of the leader wire is 70"
3. Yes you can setup ramp profiles to have the intensity ramp up & down and you can use if time to turn on/off the different profiles. You can also use the Wizard in fusion to ramp up and down the lights.
Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
The distance of the lead wire is about 70", and the distance between each LED is approximately 24".
Have a great day!
The lights are spread 24" apart for each model. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
These will need to mount to a surface with screws and would require some type of hood or canopy to mount to.
These would work okay with one over a 12-24" Area. For yours you may want up to 5 led's.
