The A3 Apex is an aquarium monitoring and control system built to help prevent equipment failures, catch problems early, and make day-to-day reefing less stressful. Track key parameters, control connected devices, and get notified when something needs attention.
Monitoring
- Track temperature and pH with included lab-grade probes
- Optical sensor for water level monitoring and leak detection with MOS and LD-2 sensors
- View trends and history inside the Apex Fusion dashboard
Protection & Alerts
- Automatically turn outlets on or off based on water parameters, sensors, or even time/day of the week

Energy Bar 832 +
Purpose-built aquarium power control with per-outlet power monitoring, expansion ports, and accessory outputs.
- ETL/UL certified specifically for aquarium use
- 8x 120VAC outlets
- Per-outlet power monitoring (watts/amps) with outlet status indicators
- 3x 1LINK outputs for WAV, DOS, and more
- 2x DC24V outputs for accessories (PMUP, solenoids, fans)
- 3x AquaBus ports for expansion
Magnetic Optical Sensor (MOS) +
A low-profile optical sensor that detects water
- Simple on/off water level detection
- Use in sumps, ATO reservoirs, AIO tanks, dosing containers, mixing stations
- Set alerts or actions when level is below or reaches the sensor
LD-2 Leak Sensor +
Detects leaks on most flat surfaces.
- Warning to help prevent damage to your aquarium or home
- Place next to the aquarium, in the stand, or where ever leaks may occur
- Weighted to help the sensor stay flat
Temperature & pH Probes+
Monitor temperature and pH right out of the box.
- Includes temperature and pH probes
- Double-junction pH probe helps maintain stable readings
- Easy, guided calibration steps in Apex Fusion.
Upgrades & Add-Ons +
The Apex ecosystem is designed to grow with your tank. Start with monitoring and control, then add Neptune accessories over time to build a system that matches your goals.
For Example:
- Add automated testing with the Trident ACM or Trident NP
- Set up automated dosing or water changes with the DOS QuietDrive
- Add additional modules to add a salinity or ORP probe
Backwards Compatible +
If you already own Apex modules, energy bars, or other compatible accessories, they can work with the A3 Apex controllers.

Apex Fusion is a web-based command center for monitoring, alerts, and automation. Customize the dashboard with drag-and-drop tiles and check in from nearly any device.
