EcoTech Marine's Freshwater Radion light was specifically designed for freshwater planted aquaria but despite what the name says, this light is very much capable of supporting a marine environment too, a macroalgae tank to be specific.
Macroalgae-dominated display aquariums are like aquarium mash-ups because they share some aspects with both freshwater planted tanks and saltwater reef aquariums. Macroalgae grow in saltwater and are photosynthetic like corals, but they look best under warm-white full spectrum daylight and can grow particularly fast, creating a lush aquascape just like freshwater plants.
EcoTech Marine's Freshwater Radion LED is the perfect platform for building a macroalgae tank or display refugium because you get the appropriate daylight spectrum to support macroalgae from a state-of-the-art LED light fixture capable of top tier performance.
Performance
At the heart of the Radion is a concentrated panel of individual LEDs that produce a very even spread of light that engulfs the aquarium with a beautiful spectrum of well-blended light. The special HEI Optics reduce the hot-spot effect while managing more output and PAR than ever before.
The effective cooling system integrates a green anodized aluminum heatsink and ultra-quiet fan to keep the LEDs within acceptable operating temperature while also being able to maintain the thin, contemporary profile of the fixture.
The combination of full-spectrum white LEDs alongside controllable RGB diodes produces a successful spectrum to support plant and macroalgae growth while also showcasing the vibrant colors of fish.

Control
One of the best features of EcoTech Marine Radion LEDs is the use of their highly evolved control platform - Mobius. Through Mobius, users can wirelessly access and control their light fixtures using a smart device to program color spectrum, save light schedules, set up lunar effects, and fine-tune the output to suit the needs of their tank. The app itself is easy to navigate and comes with spectrum presets for quick setup and tuning.
Mobius is designed to be a comprehensive control platform and is capable of integrating other EcoTech Marine products such as their popular Versa, Vectra, and VorTech pumps to create an ecosystem of life support equipment that works together to create a healthy environment for your aquatic pets.
Mounting
Radion LEDs are compatible with the popular RMS Mounting Arm, RMS Track System, and RMS Hanging Kit so you can create a mounting configuration that works for you and your tank without having to compromise aesthetics.
