nice controller and good cost By Paul on 5/31/13
Paul would recommend this product to a friendEasy to program and set up. This is my first experience using a controller and found this to be simple and just right for my needs at this time. I would have given it 5 stars but DA does not have their myReef 2.0 program for Mac yet. Would have been even easier to set up if I could have programed using their software vs the interface and remember what each piece of equipment was connected to. -
A Lot More Than An Expensive Timer By AC on 5/16/13
AC would recommend this product to a friendI have this unite set up to control just about every function on my tank.
1: Controls my Lights
2: Controls my Chiller.
3: Controls my Heater.
4: Controls my 2 part Dosing Pumps.
5: Controls my ATO using the float sensor.
6: Controls a fan to help with temp.
7: Turns off my light if the tank gets to hot and the chiller can’t cool it down.
8: Turns off all my equipment when doing a water change ( Nice not having to unplug stuff )
It was a pain to set up because I had to do a firmware upgrade to get it to work but I was able to use my laptop to set everything up. The instructions on how to do the upgrade are not very good.

do not buy better of with nothing customer service and directions suck By james on 4/29/13
james wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have a reef keeper lite. Have to say I am not happy with it. I is a pain in the ass to connect to a computer there customer service sucks. the system works fine with the tank front controler but i really wanted to use it with a laptop that I bought just for the fishtank room. In this day things should just be plug and play and the reef keeper makes you have to update the modules before use in a special order jump through some hoops of fire and sit on top of your protein skimmer with your left foot in a tub of rodi water while holding a steel rod during a thunder storm, which for some reason i was not able to do. i just gave up on it and use it from the main display. it also uses phone type wires vs usb wires, i would not buy there syestem again or tell any one else to..... pick another brand -
GREAT BUY! By Christopher on 4/19/13
Christopher would recommend this product to a friendSaves you a ton of money on the electric bill, and is great for ATO with a float. great buy! -
Okay if you don't want to expand your system By Brandon on 4/5/13
Brandon wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis controller did what I needed it to but left me with no room to expand. I was never able to get the Thermometer to read the proper temperature and had offset the controller to compensate for the difference. It's made of plastic and feels kind of cheap, I recently just switched over to the Apex Controller and so far I like it far better than Digital Aquatics. -
Must have great value By Brad on 4/2/13
Brad would recommend this product to a friendOk so at first I thought the RKL was a frivolous gadget for my aquarium… After upgrading my tank I can’t see not using a controller. This unit was a great value AND they have excellent support! I just wish the internet connection was standard. I don't really want to give up my last module just to gain internet access. I plan on adding a bunch of switches and spill sensors on my last module. -
unit like expensive timer By leo on 3/27/13
leo wouldn't recommend this product to a friendno manual to guide you and tech support for almost one and haft hour until they close nothing just frustrating situation day i wish that i both the apex controller instead. think many many many times before you buy this.if you have work no one able to help you because the office hour 8;30 am to 4;30 pm Monday to Friday. I went home 1 1/2 hour early just to call them but no will answer you except stupid machine. -
Not real happy By Toby on 3/25/13
Toby wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI think knowing what I know now I would most likely go with the Apex. Less hassle and no expansion limits. 1st of all when item was received the directions were pi@@ poor. No mention of the Myreef software at all. Only shows how it connects up. Figuring out programming is all up to you. Google and more Google. Finally found software download link on the DA forum. Then how it connects to the software?? You guessed it..on your own again. Not to
Mention I received it on Friday but can't use it because it was missing a bus cable. Contacted BRS an they said they would send DA an email. I guess I could have done that. Ordered an extra PC4 that should be here today and was told by BRS it wouldn't most likely have a BUS cable with it either! You kidding me?? I have had alot of time to figure out programming though since I can't actually use my $300 paper weight. -
Tank Changing Equipment By Ryan on 3/21/13
Ryan would recommend this product to a friendAfter buy the RKL, I do not know how I operated without it for so long. The RKL is probably one of the best investments I have made for my tank. It keeps my temperature right where it needs to be without me having to do anything, the fear of electrical fires has since left, light timers, power head controls, auto top off, you name it and the RKL can control it, and I can go to bed at night with confidence that my tank will not destroy my house. It sounds funny, but its true. -
Exactly what I need. By Drew on 3/7/13
Drew would recommend this product to a friendAfter viewing the BRS how to start a reef tank video series I decided to make the investment at the very beginning. I love the fact that I can control the temperature, dosing pumps, top off, and lighting schedule all with the same interface. I also set up some float switches that will automatically shut off my sump if something were to block the overflow. It's hard to put a price on the peace of mind this product offers. -
Great Buy By Todd on 3/5/13
Todd would recommend this product to a friendAs long as you're not looking for all the bells and whistles, this is the perfect controller. -
must have By vinny on 3/1/13

Does the temp probe also control the temp or just measure it? If it doesn't control it, how do you setup your heater to kick on and off through the power modules?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Mike,
The temp probe tells the controller what the temperature is. From there you can program the controller to do things based on that information, for example turn outlet 1 (say your heater) on in the event the temp falls below 78 and off when it increases over 78.5, etc. You can also program the outlets to do a variety of different things, for example run your lights on a timer and then turn the lights off if the temp increases over 80 degrees, etc. -

Does the wavemaker function have a random flow pattern? Or would I be better off getting a separate wavemaker controller?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Dustin,
Yes, the Reef Keeper systems do have a random timer option :-) -

Could the lunar light be used with this unit
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Juan,
Its not a problem at all to get the MLC module and run the reef keeper lunar lights with this kit. The MLC module also comes with a pair of lunar LED pods and you can add in up to an additional 6 (though in my experience the 2 it comes with are plenty for most 4 foot tanks).

Can this check salinity? If so how much is the add on?
Thanks.Bulk Reef Supply Hey Carlos,
The reef keeper systems do not currently have a method or way to measure salinity. If that is something you would like to do I would look into the Neptune Apex systems and specifically the addition of a PM2 (Probe Module 2) module and the conductivity (salinity) probe.

Is the reefkeeper system (lite plus) came with auto top off kit.
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Rafael,
This particular package comes with everything that you need with the exception of the float switches/brackets themselves. It does already include the SL1 module that the switches connect to though. The easiest way to add them is with the digital aquatics float switch/bracket kit linked below.
