High Performance Without Wasted Power

The Straton X is made for reef tanks with demanding lighting needs. In testing, it produced up to 390 PAR across a 24-inch square area, 24 inches below the fixture in water. That makes it a strong option for high-demand corals like Acropora and other SPS.

Even more impressive, it does all of that at just 150 watts of power. That works out to about 2.6 PAR per watt, making the Straton X one of the most efficient lights in its class.

Sleek, Silent, and Built for Modern Spaces

One of the standout features of the ATI Straton X is its passive cooling system. That means there are no loud fans and no dusty fan maintenance to worry about.

Instead, the light runs completely silent, making it a great choice for aquariums in living rooms, offices, or other modern spaces where you want to enjoy your tank without listening to your equipment.

And even without a fan, the fixture stays cool enough to touch. So if you accidentally tap it while cleaning or working around the tank, there is no need to worry.

Ultra-Thin Aluminum Design

The Straton X is only about one-third of an inch thick, making it one of the slimmest reef lights on the market. It is even thinner than many strip LEDs or smaller light panels.

The fixture is constructed from sleek powder-coated aluminum, giving it a sturdy, rigid feel while keeping the weight down to just 5.5 pounds.

Because the body is entirely aluminum, the whole fixture works as a large heat sink. This helps dissipate heat before it builds up, allowing the Straton X to stay thin, quiet, and cool.

Wide, Even Light Distribution

The Straton X uses 100 individual light-emitting diodes spread across a large 14.3-inch square fixture.

Its diode mix includes:

  • 8 UV
  • 8 violet
  • 20 royal blue
  • 28 blue
  • 16 cyan white
  • 16 white
  • 4 red

With the LEDs spread across the fixture and individually reflected, the Straton X helps reduce shading and hot spots while providing even light distribution across a large area.

ATI rates the coverage at about 34 inches square for SPS corals and about 39 inches square for LPS and other lower-light corals. That means many larger tanks can be lit with just one or two fixtures.

Designed to Reduce Glare

The LEDs are recessed into the aluminum frame, which helps cut down on glare. That means you can sit near your aquarium and look toward the fixture without being blinded by harsh light.

It is a small design detail, but one that makes a big difference when the aquarium is part of your everyday living space.

Clean Mounting Options

To mount the Straton X, you have a few different options.

For tank-mounted setups, ATI offers a curved aluminum mounting arm that matches the sleek powder-coated finish of the light. The arm allows for forward and backward adjustment, as well as height adjustment, so you can position the fixture exactly where you need it.

It also includes a perfectly sized channel to hide the color-matched power cable, creating a very clean, modern look.

For an even more minimal setup, a hanging kit is also available. This option eliminates brackets attached to the tank and keeps the focus on the aquarium itself.

Simple App Control with Reef Pilot

Connecting and programming the Straton X is designed to be easy through the Reef Pilot app.

Setup is straightforward:

  1. Download the Reef Pilot app.
  2. Add your tank and give it a name.
  3. Enter your tank information.
  4. Select your light.
  5. Choose a preset lighting schedule for LPS, SPS, or mixed reef aquariums.
  6. Select your time interval and intensity.

That is it. There is no need to mess with complicated connections or press and hold buttons on the fixture.

Once connected, the app gives you access to useful tools right from your tank’s homepage. You can view the temperature of the light itself and see estimated PAR values at different depths.

While those PAR values are estimates, they give you a helpful starting point when deciding where to place new corals.

Full Customization When You Want It

The preset schedules make setup easy, but the Straton X also gives you full control if you want to fine-tune your lighting.

You can customize each LED channel and adjust the entire schedule to your liking. Whether you want a simple preset or a fully dialed-in custom program, the Reef Pilot app gives you the flexibility to set the light up your way.
