Par, Spectrum & Features of the Neptune Systems GRO Macroalgae Refugium Light!

As with many of the Neptune Systems products, the beauty is in the details with their first foray into aquarium lighting, the GRO Refugium LED light. What you might not expect is it is actually one of the lowest cost options in its class and works stand alone meaning you don't NEED a Neptune Systems Apex Controller to use it!

The GRO only measures 8.7" x 6.1" and is packed with 84 low-wattage LED diodes which allows the light to provide even coverage over a maximum area of 24" x 18". The color spectrum is optimized for photonsynthesis with peaks in the 660nm, 625nm, and 450nm ranges which means your targeting the optimal spectrum for maximum chlorophyll production within your macroalgae.

Using only 20 watts, you will not get any noticeable transfer of heat and the fixture is IP65 rated meaning it is 100% water-resistant and will withstand the moisture and salt spray down around your sump. Being stand-alone, you can use a classic DC power supply plugged into any standard 3 prong outlet or power bar. For all of you Control Freaks using an Apex Controller, you have the option of connecting to any of the 24V DC ports on your EB832, FMM, or 1Link module so you don't have to take up a precious power socket, and you gain access to pH based control of your refugium photoperiod.

One of the most unique details is the dual mounting options. The Gro LED can be purchased with either a flat bracket mount to screw onto the edge of your sump/refugium wall or a clever pipe mount that clamps onto round PVC pipe making it easy to mount the light pretty much anywhere you need it.
