Once you have mounted your Apex (See Article HERE), connected it to your network (See Article HERE), and updated your Apex Operating Software (See Article HERE), you can now connect your new Apex to Apex Fusion. However, DO NOT proceed any further in the setup process if you have not yet updated your AOS.

Apex Fusion is Neptune's cloud-based connection to your controller. Connecting your new Apex to Fusion will allow you to access your controller from anywhere that has internet access so that you can stay on top of what is going on with your aquarium and make adjustments if needed even if you are miles away or even the other side of the world from home.

The process for connecting your new Apex to Fusion is extremely simple, yet is of vital importance for getting the most out of your controller.

Before you begin, you'll need to be logged into Apex Local.

Go to Apex.local in your web browser. Unless you have made some configuration adjustments (which is unlikely at this point in the process), your username and password will be:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: 1234

We'll start by looking at how to set up your Fusion account for the very first time.

If you already have a Fusion account, you can skip to the next section of this article by clicking HERE.

Setting Up Your Fusion Account

First, click on your username (probably still "admin" at this point) in the upper right corner of the page. This will lower a drop down menu. Click on "Link Apex."

Next, you will need to click the link to sign up for a new account on Apex Fusion.

This will take you to apexfusion.com. Click the "Get Control" button on the landing page to go to the login page.

Once on the login page, click the "Create Account" link (located below the reset button).

At this point, you will be asked to provide your email address. Enter the email address you want associated with your Fusion account and click "Fuse Me!"

In just a few seconds, you should receive an email titled "Apex Fusion Invitation." (If after a couple of minutes  you don't see it in your inbox, be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder.)

In the email (see below), you will notice the first step is to "READ and FOLLOW the instructions at this link." That link takes you to Neptune's Getting Started guide and walks you through the process of setting up your Apex and updating the AOS (which you should already have done at this point). IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET, CLICK HERE TO ACCESS OUR COMPLETE SET OF ARTICLES ON SETTING UP YOUR APEX

If you have already connected your new Apex to your network and updated the AOS, then skip the first link and simply click the second link in the email. This will verify your email and take you to the form for creating your new Fusion account.

The form to create an account is straightforward, so complete the information there and submit the form. NOTE: You will not be able to check the box to confirm that you have read the Terms and Conditions unless you first click on the link to review the Terms and Conditions.

After completing the form, if you log into apexfusion.com with your new account. You will notice that your new apex is not yet linked. In order to link your new apex, you will need to go back to your Apex Local dashboard and click again on the "Link Apex" link in the dropdown menu.
