      After putting in sump next to skimmer turned it on and the lower plate started to spin. Within a few minutes the red nut used to hold the spinning plate in place tightened up since both it and the plate turn in the same direction. Added Teflon to threads but even then the friction of the plate against the nut stopped the rotation since the pump is weak.
      The other issue it seemed to have is that it wasn't meant to churn the small bio pellets that BRS say they like best. The pellets kept slipping in between the spinning plate and the side wall and that helped it to freeze the operation. Maybe if used with larger bio balls and a stronger pump it might prove to work ok.
