Product Questions

Hello! I have a 40 gallon long tank. Would this be sufficient light for the 48" length if I added the 120 degree reflectors? Or would it be better to go with the 320W fixture?
Question by: Ryan on Jul 3, 2016 7:44:00 AM
For a 48" tank we would highly suggest going with the 320W R420R LED Fixture. With enough height above the tank, the 180W fixture could work for a fish only or soft coral tank, and with strategic aquascaping. However for a mixed reef, LPS or SPS tank we would always choose the 320W fixture on a 48" tank to keep shadows to a minimum.

Apex controllable? Will this light work on 32x24x20 tank mixed reef
Question by: Dave on Jul 19, 2016 9:24:00 AM
Hi Dave,
The Maxspect R420R is only controllable through the onboard interface. The recommend tank size for the R420R is 36” x 20” and with the dimensions of your tank that should work just fine.

Does the 180w come with the 120 degree lens already or does it need to be bought separately?
Question by: Joey on Jul 9, 2016 9:03:00 PM
Hi Joey,
The 180w models do come with the white 120 degree reflectors. You do not need to purchase them separately. If you have any other questions just let us know.

  • Great lights By Yusmel on 8/29/2016

I have had these lights for about 4 months now. I have had great growth in all my corals. Lights up my tank perfectly. I know these lights are not as common and popular as the radions or kessils but they have been good to me so far. I can't compare these to others because these are the first led light I own so can't compare. Overall great lights.
