Today on BRStv, we have another episode of BRS 52 FAQ where we answer all of your frequently asked reefing questions from our popular 52 Weeks of Reefing series. This week we are answering Steven Songer's question: "Can you keep two tangs in the same aquarium?" I think this is one of those age old myths perpetuated primarily because it is easier to tell people not to do something rather than share how to do it safely and successfully. Our clown harem tank is a good example of that. Most people will tell you that anything more than 2 clowns in a tank is a bad idea. If you don’t put some consideration into this, it absolutely is, however after two and a half years I would say our community of almost 30 clowns is thriving and one of my personal favorite tanks. I think the lessons we researched and applied to this success apply to many of the other fish which typically have husbandry rules like the single tang rule. I think there are a handful of major elements to success here: luck, age of the fish, territory, habitat, food, and dispersed aggression. I think the best way to think about this is a battle of resources and how age, behavior and available resources apply to maintaining a sustainable sized population. So follow along as we answer today's question, provide some helpful insight, and help make reefing just bit more fun and easy for you and your tank. *Legal Stuff* The purpose and content of this video is to provide general information regarding the products and their applications as presented in the video.
