pH test kits and probes can serve an important role in understanding your reef aquarium. Our BRStv investigates tests have shown that higher pH, such as a pH of 8.3 vs 7.8, can result in significantly faster coral growth. In some cases, we saw upwards of 50% more growth. While pH isn't an easy parameter to control, the first step in increasing pH to the top half of the recommended 7.8 to 8.4 zone is to understand how the pH in your tank fluctuates over the course of the day.
