Good Probe, Great Service By LBK Reefer on 10/12/2015LBK Reefer would recommend this product to a friendMy first probe did not not last as long as I would have expected ( 2 months) so I ordered a new one from BRS. It came damaged in shipping ( it is a rather fragile item). I called BRS and they were super nice and super service providers. They shipped a new one right out. Way to go BRS!
Works Good By Calvin on 8/14/2015Calvin would recommend this product to a friendFrom my experience they only last about 18 months
Poor quality probes By Northerner on 4/12/2015Northerner wouldn't recommend this product to a friendWent through 3 pinpoint ph probes in 6 months. All defective. Customer service at American Marine was about as good as the probes. Save your money, buy the BRS probes.
Greate Probe By Codemonkey812 on 2/2/2015Codemonkey812 would recommend this product to a friendThis is the first PH probe I have ever purchased, but the build quality seem very good.
Easy & Reliable By Neal on 5/13/2013Neal would recommend this product to a friendWorks well. Reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.
Works, has only on value add... By Karl on 5/25/2012Karl would recommend this product to a friendThis probe is absolutely fine. However, the BRS branded probes are also equally good performers. While I initially thought I had a dud, the folks at BRS were able to help me troubleshoot and pinpoint (har!) the problem. If your probe is going wonky, you probably have a stray voltage problem. Clean up your wiring rats nest and you'll be back in business!
Great Product By Jeremy on 5/16/2012Jeremy would recommend this product to a friendAccurate, reliable, easy to use.
sorry, more to add.. By Robert on 2/22/2012Robert would recommend this product to a friendjust had to stick in an addendum to my last post:
Seems some folks here are using their probes in ways that (in my experience and from what I"ve read) are quite outside normal practices.
To wit: pH meters aren't a set it and forget it kind of gadget. You will have to recalibrate. Maybe not that much in the beginning, but as time goes on it will drift more and more until it can't be calibrated any more. Time for a replacement.
I try to check against 7.0 fluid about once a month, more frequently if I've been fortunate enough to hold onto it w/out damaging it before it reaches it's golden years (not the case lately).
Actually that should be golden /year/. In my experience a decent probe (like a Pinpoint) lasts 1.5 to 2 years max. Four years?!? Really? I'm shocked. Also clean your probe more than once a year.
keeps me coming back By Robert on 2/22/2012Robert would recommend this product to a friendThese are the standard that I compare all other pH probes to. Pinpoint just seems to make a good quality product at a reasonable price. Other probes I've tried just don't last as long.
As a backup, I keep a $20 Milwaukee (yellow w/ black cap) handheld around. They are amazingly tough and don't need much in the way of calibration. They only read to the 10ths (x.x vs x.xx) but it's a tough little unit and has saved my lunch a couple of times.
Always good to have at least two of every sensor (and the necessary calibration fluids if required) so you can check them against each other.
Works great By Jim on 7/20/2010Jim would recommend this product to a friendThis is my second probe. The first one lasted about 30 seconds. I had a fumble finger friend help set it up and he dropped it right out of the box. it broke the small sensor at the end of the tube and was useless. My bad, so I ordered another. I have had it now for 4 years now and just clean the sensor once a year, then calibrate it. It has always never been far off when I recalibrate. It does seem a little expensive for a probe but it should last years before needing replpacement , unless you break it right out of the box like what happened to me.
I highly recommend it.!!! Good product
a breeze By jason mclain on 4/19/2010jason mclain would recommend this product to a friendworks great and was easy to calibrate. I bought it as a saftey backup for my lime water top off.
Precise By James on 1/29/2010James would recommend this product to a friendI am on my second ph probe in four years, both of them Pinpoint. I just broke my last one due to personal stupidity. But it worked great until then. I am hoping this one will last even longer. I can comment on its accuracy, as I often checked it with calibration solution and it was always real close. Calibration is easy.

Pretty much all pH and ORP probes are interchangeable. This as well as the BRS ones would work just fine to replace a digital aquatics one and vice versa.
