Will M would recommend this product to a friendThe Bubble Blaster pump is truly in a class of its own, if you haven't seen one in action you really wouldn't believe it. The skimmer itself is great as well. Pretty much plug and play. It pulls twice the gunk out in the same amount of time as my old skimmer. Great product and I'd highly recommend it. -

JohnDeStef would recommend this product to a friendHaving this skimmer in the last chamber of our sump/fuge has been a wonderful addition to our 120 Starphire reef system. Well packaged for delivery, build like a tank, installs in seconds, and releases no micro bubbles back to the display. It likes six to seven inches of water line and the slight hum at initial startup has become unnoticeable. LIke all skimmers it takes a bit to get it calibrated, but once it is, it's good to go and then easy to adjust. I'd suggest using the white ring at the top of the cone as the ceiling of your bubbles. Any higher than that and your skimmate is very wet. Oh yeah, GREAT delivered price from BRS too!

This is going to be my first large reef tank. I don't understand what it means as optimal sump depth of 5.75 iin?? Is that how deep in the sump the skimmer can go. So if in my sump I have 8 in of water I must place the skimmer on a stand so it sits at 5.75 deep.

You are correct, It just means that the skimmer will perform best if it is in a chamber that has a water depth of 5.75 inches. So you are correct that it would operate best if you put it on something about 2" tall if the water depth is currently at 8".
