The Neptune FMK is the first of its kind, a flow metering device for reef aquariums. The standard sized flow sensors can be placed in numerous locations around your aquarium, and interface through a Neptune Apex Controller. Each sensor will let you know how fast water is passing through it, giving you the ability to activate alarms when the flow drops below or goes above a particular threshold. The sensors are ideal for return pumps obviously, but equipment like UV sterilizers, GFO, Zeovit, and Biopellet Reactors will benefit the most. The FMM Module doesn’t just stop there, it has the capability of leak and water level detection along with a 24V port to power accessories like solenoid valves, and the Neptune PMUP. Installing the FMM Module and the sensors are pretty straight forward, but we do have a few tips to help installation go a bit smoother. First and foremost, make sure that the flow direction arrow on each sensor is pointing in the direction water flows through your plumbing, secondary follow Neptune’s recommendation on when to use tape or pipe compound depending on the sensor you are using. Also, firmware updates are continuously being released and making sure that your Apex Controller and the FMM Module are running on the most recent firmware version which can be found through your Apex Dashboard. That will ensure that you have a smooth and trouble-free connection with your Apex Controller.
