  • Quiet, moves water, but runs hot By Scott on 9/7/2017

Iwaki's run hot. That being said it is a reliable and quiet pump that works great. As others have said, make sure to run some flexible tubing between your hard lines and sump, and it will cut the noise down a lot. Mine is just a subtle hum in the background. I've had zero issues with it since I got it and would definitely buy again.
  • Very quiet By Miguel on 1/28/2015

Great quality, powerful, low power consumption
  • Little noisy By AdamSabina on 9/8/2014

If you use this pump you have to use silicone hose or flexible PVC in between the pump in the tank and also the pump and the return. It vibrates which turns into noise. But wow does it pump a lot of water.
  • Pretty good By AdamSabina on 9/8/2014

Be sure to plane enough room to have 4-5" of flexible PVC between the pump and the sump and the return. My pump puts enough vibration into the sump so it's a little noisier than I like. But WOW does it pump a LOT of water.
  • compact and quite By JASON on 9/5/2013

I was debating on getting this style pump because they tend to be noisy, so I hear and to my surprise It is way quieter than I expected. Infact I can't hear it over the the other pumps and water movement in my sump.

Product Questions

Im interested in this pump but Im curious as to why the outlet is skewed off to the side instead of straight up and down...

Question by: erick on Feb 10, 2017 9:21:00 PM
Hey there! The position of the outlet is set in that orientation by the manufacturer, but it does not have to be used in that position. The great thing about this pump impeller housing is that it can be rotated to meet your needs! All you have to do is unscrew the housing retaining screws, rotate the housing to your desired direction, then screw it back on. :-)

is pump good for a 90 gallon tank
Question by: owen on Apr 2, 2014 1:36:00 PM
Hi Owen,
Assuming your not pumping some sort of unusually large distance (like up from a basement) then this would be a great choice and a pretty typical flow rate for a pump on a 90g tank.
