Internal

Overflows are great for saltwater aquariums since they allow you to plumb your display tank to a sump. Many "reef ready" aquariums will come with an overflow pre-installed and the holes already drilled but if your aquarium doesn't have any holes, you can still add an internal overflow. With a glass hole saw, any pane of non-tempered glass can be drilled and only takes a few minutes.
