Heart of a Skimmer is the Pump
All AquaMaxx skimmers feature modified high-quality Italian Sicce Pumps. While other skimmers may also use Sicce needlewheel pumps, AquaMaxx ‘Shark’ pumps go above and beyond. Each Sicce pump motor block is modified then fitted with a proprietary AquaMaxx needlewheel impeller to further enhance its performance. With the precise modifications and upgrades, performance is boosted much beyond that of a standard Sicce needlewheel pump. The upgraded AquaMaxx ‘Shark’ pump is capable of drawing significantly more air and chops them up to the optimum bubble size for maximum protein extraction. The pump and protein skimmer combinations deliver unprecedented performance and reliability. Accumulated protein and organics will be vigorously removed from your tank and your water quality will be much improved!

Innovative Design
AquaMaxx skimmers are computer engineered and outfitted with the latest filtration technology. AquaMaxx NF-1 skimmer features an advanced bubble chamber to efficiently mix air and water to extract the maximum amount of protein. Noise is minimized by the built-in air silencer as well as the silicone noise-dampeners on the magnetic mounts. Extensively tested outlet baffling system minimizes air bubbles from exiting the outlet.

Unsurpassed Quality
High-quality cell-cast acrylic is used throughout for maximum durability. Experienced craftsmen assemble each skimmer precisely to produce a top-notch product at very affordable prices.

Product Questions

Are these skimmers compatible with ozone?
Question by: Kristin K. on Apr 7, 2024, 10:17 AM
Hi there! This skimmer would not be recommended to use with ozone.
Answer by: Grace (BRS Staff) on May 2, 2024, 9:55 AM
Will this skimmer fit in a red sea max nano (20g) AIO aquarium? Tank is 2 years old and the original skimmer has NEVER worked correctly.
Question by: Tom Rutherford on Aug 4, 2022, 9:10 AM
Unfortunately we don't have the tank on hand to measure and the manual doesn't provide specs for the chamber dimensions. We'd recommend measuring that back chamber. So long as the skimmer section is larger than 2.76" x 4.15", the NF-1 should fit"
Answer by: Scott F. (BRS Staff) on Aug 4, 2022, 1:12 PM
Two questions.

One: Will this fit inside my large hang-on-back Fiji cube refugium that I am using as more of a back chamber. (https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/advanced-hang-on-back-refugium-large-fiji-cube.html)

Two: Is this an AC or DC skimmer? Is it tuneable?
Question by: Samaya Neesen on Jun 26, 2022, 11:14 PM
This is a great question! This may work on the Fiji Cube refugium since the dimensions work out between the two. Just be sure that the skimmer pump does not get clogged with refugium debris or macro algae. This is an AC pump driven skimmer, but the skimmer is adjustable with the adjustment knob once the pump is primed. Be sure to check out the instruction manual under the more information section on the product page as well for setting the skimmer up at the proper water level.

Will this skimmer fit in my IM Fusion 20?
Question by: Rodrigo Palomera on Jun 5, 2022, 11:28 AM
Thanks for the question! This skimmer is a bit too big to fit in the back chambers of the Nuvo 20. Please give us a call, email, or chat and we'd be happy to help pick a skimmer that will fit your tank!
Answer by: Kyle Thomas (BRS Staff) on Jun 7, 2022, 12:50 PM
Will this fit in the nuvo fusion 30l skimmer chamber?
Question by: christoher hale on Jan 19, 2022, 11:51 PM
Hey There, thank you for reaching out! The skimmer chamber in the NUVO 30L is 4" x 3.8". The NF-1 is larger at 2.76" x 4.15". That said the first chamber in the 30L is 4.8" x 3.7" so it would fit here if neccessary.

How deep does the sump need to be for tis skimmer
Question by: Hunter Templeman on Nov 12, 2021, 10:36 PM
Hello, the recommended water level is approximately 10 Inches, you can make adjustments by lowering or rising the skimmer to fine tune it as desired.
