Instructions for Use

  1. Dissolve salt in previously prepared RODI water of about 75°F.  For salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.), dissolve about 390 g (13.75 oz.) in 10 l (2.7 US gal) of water
  2. Stir the solution vigorously for about 15 minutes.  Once the salt is fully dissolved and the solution is clear, the saline water is ready to use.
  3. Keep freshly mixed saltwater in a sealed container and use within 5 days.

Product Questions

It wasn't until after the bag was delivered that I realized that this salt has aminos, vitamins and "nutrients" added. Instructions mention using the mixed seawater within 5 days. I usually mix 50 g that's used for auto water changes over a couple weeks. My question is will it be ok if stored for 2 weeks? If not what issues might I expect?
Question by: KJ on Dec 1, 2023, 9:32 PM
If you are planning on keeping it for 2 weeks, I would recommend looking into a different salt mix such as Tropic Marin Pro or HW Reefer.

Is the Reef Saltmix blend phosphate free?
Question by: TidyTanks Aquarium on Oct 12, 2022, 7:50 PM
Thanks for reaching out! It is hard to make salt that is 100% phosphate free. That said this is one where you will see trace amounts and lower than most salts out there.

What are the parameters (alk, ca, mg) that this salt mixes to at 35ppt?
Question by: Alex Nies on Aug 11, 2022, 7:55 AM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. On the product page, and the last photo, you can see the parameter break down to different salinity. AT 35PPT is is 7.7-8.3, 440-460 Ca, and 1360-1420 Mg.

Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!
