Welcome to the future of aquarium lighting!

Combine your favorite LED Light module along with Aquatic Lifes T5 lighting fixture to create a stellar lighting system!

Accepts three Ecotech, AI, or Kessil LED Light Module

  • Includes LED Light Brackets
  • Powder Coated Aluminum Frame
  • Individual T5 Reflectors
  • Silicone T5 Sockets
  • HEP Ballasts

Aquatic Life's T5HO Hybrid Lighting Fixture lets you combine your favorite LED light module between two banks of T5 lights. The T5 lights are powered by HEP Ballasts for fast firing and excellent color rendition. Each T5 lamp has their own reflector and is held in by traditional bulb clips that have a plastic coating to protect your bulb. Aquatic Life has even gone above and beyond by including silicone end caps that make changing bulbs super fast and easy.

When you combine LED and T5 lighting you can have the best of both worlds. T5 lighting has a proven track record with their full spectrum bulbs and edge to edge coverage, and almost anyone can have success with the right fluorescent lamps. Being in the 21st century everything we own must have some type of control, and that is where T5 fails, but LED shines. LED lights are known for their ability to ramp up and down giving dusk to dawn effects while being able to change colors and spectrums throughout the day as well. LED lights provide great shimmer, and when paired with T5 lights almost creates a realistic look that you would actually find in a shallow reef.

Pair the Aquatic Life Hybrid fixture with some of the most popular LEDs like Kessil, Ecotech, or Aqua Illumination for a successful combination of T5 and LED lighting. Each hybrid fixture includes two different mounts that can accept some of the larger lights like the Kessil A360 and Aqua Illumination Hydra FiftyTwo HD, but also some of the smaller modules like the AI Prime HD and Ecotech XR15w lights.

Important Note - While supplies last, fixtures will include three round mounting brackets for the Kessil A360. In the future, these will be available for separate purchase.

Tuning Your New LED Light

Most LED lights will actually put out more light than your corals will actually need and without a PAR Meter to test the overall output, it is really hard to guess if the light is too dim or intense. We highly suggest using a PAR Meter to test the output of your lights at different points throughout your tank that you can use to tune the lights output or know where to put specific corals.

On the 48" fixture the description states mounting hardware for 2 led units. In the "What's included" area it states hardware for 3 units. Which is true? Can I mount 3xr30s on this unit?
Question by: Nick on Jan 17, 2018, 12:14 PM
The 48" model does come with two different styles of brackets that can mount up to 3 individual LEDs.
Answer by: Charlie on Jan 17, 2018, 6:51 PM

Answer by: Josh Cuta on Jan 11, 2018, 11:30 AM
Can you run the 2 sets of T5’s separately for a blues/whites setup, or is everything on a single power cord?
Question by: Jared on Nov 23, 2017, 6:00 PM
The Aquatic Life Hybrids do come with two power cords, one for each bank of lights. The banks are the two bulbs in the front and the two bulbs in the back, so you could load up the back with blue bulbs and the front with whites if you wish. : )
Answer by: Charlie on Nov 24, 2017, 9:17 AM
Does this unit come with legs to sit on the tank or can it only be hung
Question by: Evan on Nov 3, 2017, 5:57 PM
Hi Evan, great question!
At this time the only mounting option is the included hanging kit. There has been talk of accessories being released in the future but to my knowledge legs were not mentioned specifically.
Answer by: Nick on Nov 25, 2017, 2:01 PM
Hi, i have some radion g4 with the rms tank mounts, can this fixture accept the radions, and then be mounted to my ttank using the ecotech rms tank mounts? it looks like i have 5 inches or so clearance from my light to the rms stem, but not sure about the weight.
Question by: Caelen Klopson on Nov 2, 2017, 4:24 AM
Hi Caelen, thanks for reaching out!

The the total width of the fixture is 18" which means you need at least 9" of clearance on the arm. I think the RMS mounts are capable of holding that weight but would be a little concerned about the fact they are putting stress on the rim of your aquarium. I would either use them on the ends of the tank with a RMS Multi-Light rail or hang it from the ceiling or wall mounted hangers.
Hope this helps!
Answer by: Nick on Nov 25, 2017, 8:44 AM
What is the spread on this fixture? I have a 48x36x24 tank. Would the 48in cover it with no dark areas?
Question by: Katie on Oct 30, 2017, 2:51 PM
Hey there,

I would imagine this should provide you with ample light, when mounted centered over your tank, to evenly light the entire system. To help you get a better idea of spread and PAR. Check out this video we did with testing over a 48" tank.

what are the dimensions for the insert for LED lights
Question by: Mark on Oct 7, 2017, 10:31 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. The space that is given to fit LEDs would be 47.375*7.125*1.4375. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 2:25 PM
When will you get a 72 inch one that has 6 LED module racks?
Question by: Allen Frady on Oct 7, 2017, 9:35 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this light fixture. I am not sure if we will get a 72" option for this as that size is not a very common one. I do know however that you could use two 36" fixtures in order to achieve this. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 2:04 PM
Hey will these also fit the reef breeder leds modules? I have two 16” fixtures
Question by: Ben on Oct 7, 2017, 9:07 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. This would allow for mounting any light that is 7.125" wide between the T5s. For lights bigger then this you could make a mount on the light in order to hang it slightly below the T5s. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 2:09 PM
I have 2 kessil ap700's for a 72 inch take would they fit in 2 of the 36 in lights.
I have them on the A series brackets
Thank you
Kevin
Question by: Kevin Moore on Oct 7, 2017, 6:50 PM
Hey Kevin,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this hybrid fixture. You would be able to do what you are trying to do with the included brackets. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 1:44 PM
Any word on a possible 60" length version? Are ballasts easy to get to and replace for the t5's? I know they officially list name brands, but I imagine typical "black box" type lights to have their mounting holes fit the "standard light" bracket most likely?
Question by: Nick on Oct 7, 2017, 6:29 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. I have not taken this apart, but based off the housing it appears to be easy to maintenance the ballasts if needed. Any light with mounting holes on the top will be able to attach to this bracket directly or with adding a DIY bracket onto your light first. The space between the T5s is 7.125" as this is probably the most important dim when fitting your LED. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 1:47 PM
This t5 are nice but if we have 4 xr 15. How can we mount it only come with 3 bracket and also if we have canopy 49 are too long. If 46-47 yes I will pick one but with this size and only 3 bracket it won’t work on my hybrid light build
Question by: Lei Zhou on Oct 7, 2017, 1:35 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this retrofit fixture. The dims for this fixture are 47.5*18.03125*1.4375 and should work well in most canopies on 4' tanks. As far as the brackets. We plan on getting additional brackets in order to allow for this kind of expansion. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can help with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 1:08 PM
on the 48" unit how many ecotech xr30's will fit in the unit. also how many brackets will the units come with? (ex will it come with hardware for 1 xr30 or 2 or 3 etc) or will we be able to select the led type on the unit ordered that we want to house and buy the corresponding brackets to mount our units
Question by: Garrett Crance on Oct 7, 2017, 10:24 AM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. The space in between the left and right side rails is just over 47" which would allow for mounting up to three XR30 fixtures. There will be two brackets included with the purchase of this fixture, but we plan to get brackets in for sale to allow for the expansion. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 12:57 PM
This is exactly what I'm looking for with a but....Is it possible to order an extra led hanging bracket to allow for a fourth Kessil LED?
Question by: Jeff Downs on Oct 7, 2017, 10:21 AM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. We are looking at getting in brackets to allow for expansions like this. More then likely we will send out a notifications to all of our preferred reefers when we get them in as this is seaming to be a very popular item. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Answer by: Tyler Schafer on Oct 14, 2017, 1:00 PM
Can the XR30 modules be oriented so that longer width of XR30 is going along width, not length of the tank?
Question by: Drew on Oct 6, 2017, 12:45 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to orientation of lights when mounting in this fixture. The lights can only be mounted one way on this light fixture. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
