Aquatic Life's T5HO Hybrid Lighting Fixture lets you combine your favorite LED light module between two banks of T5 lights. The T5 lights are powered by HEP Ballasts for fast firing and excellent color rendition. Each T5 lamp has their own reflector and is held in by traditional bulb clips that have a plastic coating to protect your bulb. Aquatic Life has even gone above and beyond by including silicone end caps that make changing bulbs super fast and easy.
When you combine LED and T5 lighting you can have the best of both worlds. T5 lighting has a proven track record with their full spectrum bulbs and edge to edge coverage, and almost anyone can have success with the right fluorescent lamps. Being in the 21st century everything we own must have some type of control, and that is where T5 fails, but LED shines. LED lights are known for their ability to ramp up and down giving dusk to dawn effects while being able to change colors and spectrums throughout the day as well. LED lights provide great shimmer, and when paired with T5 lights almost creates a realistic look that you would actually find in a shallow reef.
Pair the Aquatic Life Hybrid fixture with some of the most popular LEDs like Kessil, Ecotech, or Aqua Illumination for a successful combination of T5 and LED lighting. Each hybrid fixture includes two different mounts that can accept some of the larger lights like the Kessil A360 and Aqua Illumination Hydra FiftyTwo HD, but also some of the smaller modules like the AI Prime HD and Ecotech XR15w lights.

- Ecotech XR30
- Ecotech XR15

Had potencial By Mike on 12/19/2017Mike wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI respect that this is a low cost item but they went too far. The cords are on differnt sides of the fixture and not even 6 feet long. Even the mounting kit is 38". Who's ceilings are that low?
Great fixture hate the cords By Brian on 12/5/2017Brian would recommend this product to a friendWe all know the cords were a bad idea. Other than that I love this fixture. It looks nice and works well.
Pretty good but cords are annoying. By Keith on 11/24/2017Keith would recommend this product to a friendSeveral people have already pointed out my primary criticism - the two cords come out of opposite sides of the fixture making it difficult to plug into a single spot. To do so, I needed to use an extension cord but arranging it so there was no plugs where it could get wet took some work.
The front to back dimension made it difficult to for me to reach into the tank so I raised the fixture about 10 inches off the water. This probably results in reduced light in the tank, but I rather have that than hitting my lights often. This is not a criticism, the dimensions are clearly stated, just something to think about. the distance between then the pairs of T5s gives a even lightening - even when the lights are about 6 inches above the water.
I really like the look of the T5 LED hybrid.
Needs better cord management By FiremanRick on 11/10/2017FiremanRick would recommend this product to a friendI feel its a quality fixture that allowed me to utilize the Kessil lights i already owned to create a very high end looking device. My only complaint is similar to the other review, and to complaints I've read on Reef2Reef. The wires are not long enough, and having the wires come from mirror opposite ends create one wire thats shorter than the other. The weight of the wires hanging down the back of the tank pulls the fixture off balance. This is a 5 star fixture with a 3 star set of wires.
Not bad for the price By Nathan on 11/6/2017Nathan would recommend this product to a friendI just installed the light so I don't have a long term review. i was somewhat disappointed by a couple of things but overall happy. The light was slightly damaged in shipping. The bad part is the box didn't look bad at all. The ends were slightly bent but I bent them back and they are decent now.
The most annoying thing is that they didn't make 2 unique sides to the fixture. They made 2 identical pieces which probably cuts down on cost, but the result as that you have a power chord coming out of both sides of your light. The whole point of this light is to avoid retrofits and having to hide the lights under something so that is just a bit annoying. The final issue I have with the product is the hanging kit. It is actually nice, but the end of the kit that would normally have an adapter of some sort for the ceiling or shelf, instead has the cable looped with a crimp on it. That is a cheesy was to hang thousands of dollars from the ceiling. I already had my AI mounts up so I cut the end off of this kit and used my already hanging wires but the Aquatic Life fixture attachments.
It may seem like a lot of complaining, but for a first edition light that just came out it isn't that bad. I will likely even order another one for my other tank after trying this one out longer. I do hope they come out with a better option for the power chords and this would be an awesome fixture, but for the price its still a solid choice over retro fits.
Love the Options By Chad on 11/5/2017Chad would recommend this product to a friendI really, really like having the flexibility of T5 and LED. I had two Ecotech XR30's already, and loved the idea of adding T5, so I did with this. The XR30's fit great and now I can slide them into the exact position I want them in, rather than the less flexible hanging and rail systems from Ecotech. I installed this light in a short period of time, with little effort. I do wish it came with a computer to program the schedule. I had a previous T5 fixture that had a computer built-in for programming the lights, which I liked, but this unit requires a programmable outlet. I am very happy that I was able to add T5 to the Ecotechs I already and thus the 5 stars, but I wish it only needed one power cord and not two, and the computer for light schedule.

At this time the only mounting option is the included hanging kit. There has been talk of accessories being released in the future but to my knowledge legs were not mentioned specifically.
This product does have individual reflectors for each bulb. Have a great day!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to orientation of lights when mounting in this fixture. The lights can only be mounted one way on this light fixture. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
I would imagine this should provide you with ample light, when mounted centered over your tank, to evenly light the entire system. To help you get a better idea of spread and PAR. Check out this video we did with testing over a 48" tank.
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. We are looking at getting in brackets to allow for expansions like this. More then likely we will send out a notifications to all of our preferred reefers when we get them in as this is seaming to be a very popular item. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. The space in between the left and right side rails is just over 47" which would allow for mounting up to three XR30 fixtures. There will be two brackets included with the purchase of this fixture, but we plan to get brackets in for sale to allow for the expansion. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this retrofit fixture. The dims for this fixture are 47.5*18.03125*1.4375 and should work well in most canopies on 4' tanks. As far as the brackets. We plan on getting additional brackets in order to allow for this kind of expansion. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can help with. Thanks!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. I have not taken this apart, but based off the housing it appears to be easy to maintenance the ballasts if needed. Any light with mounting holes on the top will be able to attach to this bracket directly or with adding a DIY bracket onto your light first. The space between the T5s is 7.125" as this is probably the most important dim when fitting your LED. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
I have them on the A series brackets
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this hybrid fixture. You would be able to do what you are trying to do with the included brackets. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. This would allow for mounting any light that is 7.125" wide between the T5s. For lights bigger then this you could make a mount on the light in order to hang it slightly below the T5s. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this light fixture. I am not sure if we will get a 72" option for this as that size is not a very common one. I do know however that you could use two 36" fixtures in order to achieve this. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this fixture. The space that is given to fit LEDs would be 47.375*7.125*1.4375. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
The the total width of the fixture is 18" which means you need at least 9" of clearance on the arm. I think the RMS mounts are capable of holding that weight but would be a little concerned about the fact they are putting stress on the rim of your aquarium. I would either use them on the ends of the tank with a RMS Multi-Light rail or hang it from the ceiling or wall mounted hangers.
Hope this helps!
