Dual Water Channel Design
Eshopps R-Series sumps feature unique flow through the separate refugium and skimmer chamber. The main advantage is that your skimmer can now uptake undissolved organics while your refugium can absorb nutrients like ammonia, phosphorus, and other unwanted nutrients without having to compete with each other.
The Eshopps R-Series of sumps has a unique flow pattern. Water first drains into the main drain chamber where a portion of the water will flow into the refugium chamber, and skimmer chamber completely separate. The skimmer compartment has a filter sock to help polish the water of any debris or detritus before entering the protein skimmer, where the refugium compartment gets completely unfiltered water. Keeping the flow paths isolated greatly increases the protein skimmers efficiency and also the growth rate of the refugium. Both chambers drain into the return pump chamber where water can be pushed back into the aquarium by your choice of return pump.
Refugium - 10" x 7"
Refugiums are great for holding macroalgae and other nutrient reducing organisms. Just add a refugium light to the R-100 for an efficient source of filtration. Lights like the Kessil H380 is a perfect choice.
Skimmer Chamber - 11.5" x 8"
Simply choose any skimmer that has a footprint less than 11.5" x 8" and you are in business. The large area lets you choose the best skimmer for your system's needs without having to compromise.

Excellent size for 24" Nano By Zesty on 12/8/2018Zesty would recommend this product to a friendUsing with the Innovative Marine Fusion 50 and stand, fits very nicely underneath. Very well designed and excellent build quality and size sections for a Nano like the IM, plenty of room for Cheato in the refufium, skimmer, hang On Calcium Reactor, Heater and zeolite reactor. and plenty of room in cabinet with Sump for Apex Neptune, DOS, 2 FMM's, EB328, EB. The only thing I would like available as an addon for this Sump is a alternative cover for the Filter Sock to fit the KIR 4 Roller filter, eshoppe let me know your thoughts?
Also fits standard size 4" return pumps for this size of Sump in the return area.
Eshopps R-100 Refugium Sump 3rd Gen By CHUCK on 8/27/2018CHUCK would recommend this product to a friendreturn pump area small, size of the refugium very small. I wish I did not but this sump. but I will say it is well built. I have no qualms about the quality of workmanship.
works ok but has some annoying attributes By Mark on 3/24/2018Mark wouldn't recommend this product to a friendFirst I will say it is well built. I have no qualms about the quality of workmanship. The design however has some flaws. I am not a fan of the size of the refugium. Quite small for the size tank this is built for. There will be no room to grow much chaeto. Second, and the most trouble for me is the size and lay out of the pump return section. When the unit is installed, the pump area is completely hidden. You cannot see the water level or see anything in that section. You have to feel around like a blind man, or try and use a mirror. The design has the water level pretty low, and at least with my aqua medic pro ATO, the bracket is not long enough to keep the water level low enough so that my protein simmer isn't riding too deep in the previous chamber. Another annoying piece. unless you can keep the water level just above the pump, then the skimmer section is not adjustable. Some engineer without practical experience was in charge of this one.
