Quick Overview

A built-in overflow is the most efficient method of draining aquarium water to a filter. If your aquarium does not have built-in overflow, CPR Continuous Siphon Overflows/Prefilters are the best means for getting water from an aquarium to a filter system. They quietly skim up to six times more water than units with tubes.

The advantages of CPR Continuous Siphon Overflows/Prefilters include:

  • Adjustable water level allows you to easily change the level in your tank

  • Black top reduces algae growth

  • Plastic screen to prevent fish loss

All Deluxe CPR CS Overflows come with the Aqualifter Pump and acrylic lid for quieter operation.

  • great product for design By Scott on 7/12/2017

Initially bought this product as I did not want to drill my 160 gallon. Well made, thick acrylic which performed fine. That 1.5 inch bulkhead can really move water as I was using a Vectra L1. Products are only as good as the weakest link. The $20 lift pump was a concern. So after a few months without problems I ordered the 16 inch synergy overflow. I started with the CPR because I had an established tank. I did take a risk and drilled my tank with with fish inside after lowering the water level. No problems with the drill. Amazing how a cheap $20 drill goes through glass. The synergy installed easily. Really love 3 1.5 inch bulkheads. You never wished you had smaller ones. I later ordered the synergy sump as it was plug and play with the 3 1.5 intakes! Thanks BRS!
  • JUNK! By SWANY on 4/24/2017

this is my 5th tank flood in 4 years... all from the junk pump 3 months first went out 1 week next went out... next lasted 1 year befor I replaced it and bam 1 month later pump stops working.....don't waist your time with this junk get the old trusted style that I had ran for 10 years with not a worry new stuff just not what it used to be...
  • great option By Derek on 11/24/2016

I am using one on my 150 gallon peninsula tank. I have two return pumps moving about 700 gph and the overflow is showing no issues.

How do you clean the inside of this thing? I've had this for a few months and the water flow is significantly lower. I clean the intake screen area, but there is no way to clean under the black section. This is an issue because it's gross in there and you can see the funk build up.

For those areas that are accessible, a good pipe/bottle cleaner of the appropriate diameter can be very helpful. On the underside of the hang-on bracket, this will be harder to clean mechanically, but an occasional soak in vinegar or citric acid solution can be very effective in killing and dissolving any buildup on the internals of the box, which should keep it from getting clogged up.

Have a great day!
