7.5 Gallon Mr. Aqua Cube Aquarium

The Mr. Aqua 7.5 Gallon Bowfront tank is an awesome little nano tank that can easily be placed on your desk, kitchen counter, or really anywhere with its small size. The small pico tanks are best for smaller species of fish, corals and invertebrates. Many people will use these tanks for a single species of coral, or invertebrate that may be a bit harder to keep in a larger community system. The Mini bow front tanks can be drilled on the backs as they are not tempered if you wish to add a sump or closed loop water flow system.

Glass thickness: 5mm

Dimensions: 18.1" x 9.4" x 10.2"

Total Volume: 7.5 US Gallons

  • Great first tank! By Nina on 10/6/2017

I've had this tank for a few weeks now and I really love it! BRS was really helpful in correcting my order from the smaller 3gal tank in exchange for this larger one. Shipped quickly and arrived very well packaged, no damage at all. The bow front design is really nice, albeit a little challenging when it comes to finding a suitable lid.
  • Perfect! By Tai on 4/9/2017

I spent months looking for a tank when I stumbled across this one. It's absolutely perfect. Everything I wanted. It so clear and clean its almost like there is no tank! Tank came well package, I mean very well packaged. I would definitely recommend to a family or friend.
  • Misleading product description 6.75 not equal to 7.5 By Olitheengineer on 4/6/2017

Usually when you order a tank, say a ten gallon tank, you can expect that the tank will contain ten gallons of water. Wouldn't it be crazy if we lived in a world where 7.5 gallon aquariums contained 7.5 gallons of water?!?!?! Apparently that's too much to ask for from Mr. Aqua. This tank actually contains 6.75 gallons of water. The 7.5 advertised is the result of calculating the volume as it it were a rectangular prism with dimensions equal to the max dimensions of the tank. However as is obvious; this is not a rectangular prism shaped aquarium. I was made aware of the disparity in volumes when I decided to model the aquarium in a program in order to make a custom lid. Using this software I was able to calculate that the actual capacity of the tank is just under 6.75 gallons. Now, despite this frustrating error in the manufacturer's basic arithmetic the tank itself is decent. It isn't by any means exceptional but It will do the job while looking attractive. As an engineer however I lose a lot of peace of mind in using a product when such obvious mistakes are made as described above. How can I trust that they tested the integrity of their seams when they did not test the integrity of their calculations. The clarity of the glass is mediocre with variations throughout. Overall, this is a good beginner aquarium or desk aquarium as long as you don't mind the lackluster accountability on behalf of the manufacturer. I'd recommend this product to a trashcan.

p.s.: I may seem like a jerk but that is just because I have standards. Even for what I'd expect at the $50 price point this is not worth the trouble. I am also a little bitter because I bought this to make a species tank that really needs just a tiny bit more than 7 gallons of water and ended up spending around $600 (triple my budget oops) and now have to find a new tank and start the long cycling process all over again.
My feelings towards the product however are not parallel to loyalty I have to BRS. I will continue to support the store but it is certain that I will not buy another Mr. Aqua tank.

TLDR: 6.75 gallons not 7.5 gallons. Math is hard for Mr. Aqua. #trustmeimanengineer

  • Nice Quality By Mark on 2/14/2016

I originally wanted to make a 5.5 gallon counter top reef aquarium. When I went to all the local stores the tanks I found were poor quality with ugly, crooked silicone lines in the corners. Then I stumbled across this one. The beveled edges and the clean silicone job makes it look very high quality and attractive. The cost of shipping was super cheap for a glass aquarium. It was well packaged and arrived quickly and undamaged. I'm glad I didn't settle for what I could find locally. I ended up buying a yoga mat that I cut and put under it because I forgot to order the one that is made for it. That didn't save me any money though so don't forget to pick up the mat that goes under it too.

Product Questions

Is there a lid or canopy available for this tank?
Question by: Michelle Richardson on Jul 25, 2016 3:35:00 PM
Hi there,
At this time we do not carry any lids for the Mr. Aqua Tanks. With the smaller tanks like the Mr. Aqua bow fronts, you could easily DIY a top out of acrylic that you can pick up at your local hardware store for pretty cheap, and with the Innovative Marine Screen Screen Top Suspension Clips that can support the top you create.

What type of led light do you suggest for this tank?
Question by: Mervin J Bachemin Jr on Jun 9, 2016 4:17:00 PM
Great question!
We recommend the Kessil A160 Tuna blue for a very nice light! additionally you could work with the single Par38 bulb by Rapid LED and simply mount it with a light socket. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
