The Platinum V2 builds on Trigger Systems’ original design with a more flexible, user-focused layout. The first chamber has been redesigned, allowing you to choose how you want to run mechanical filtration. The removable plates also make cleaning and maintenance easier.

The sump ships ready to run with filter socks but can be upgraded to a fleece roller or configured with a filter tray depending on your setup. This flexibility makes it easy to adapt your filtration over time without replacing the sump or making DIY modifications.

An adjustable middle divider gives you the control to size the skimmer chamber exactly how you need it, maximize space for a refugium, or remove the divider entirely for a single open chamber. Adjustable water height in the skimmer section adds another layer of control.

Beyond function, the Platinum V2 is simply one of the best looking sumps available to the hobby. Plus, the integrated cable management, labeled water level markers, built-in probe holder, and 1/4" push connect fittings will keep everything organized and looking like it was installed by a reefing pro.

Flexible Mechanical Filtration Options

Filter Socks
The sump comes standard with 4" filter socks, each equipped with silencers that sit inside the socks to help reduce noise. A black filter pad can also be placed on top to further quiet water flow while adding an extra layer of mechanical filtration.

Fleece Roller (sold separately)
Upgrade to a fleece roller for automated mechanical filtration. The system uses a motor controller with optical sensors and a small display for easy configuration and control. The optional Fleece Kit includes everything needed to convert the sump, along with two fleece rolls to get started.

Filter Tray (sold separately)
A large drop-in filter tray offers a flexible approach to mechanical filtration. Use it with bio balls, media bags for carbon or phosphate removal, or stack different sizes of filter pads. The kit also includes a black foam pad to get started.

Middle Divider Wall

Finding a sump that works with your skimmer can be a challenge. The Platinum Series solves that with an adjustable middle divider wall. On all models except the cube, this wall can be repositioned to customize the size of both the skimmer and refugium sections.

Dial in the ideal skimmer chamber for your equipment, then use the remaining space to maximize your refugium. If you prefer a single, open chamber, the divider can also be removed entirely.

A sliding cross brace is still required, even without the divider in place, to maintain structural support and prevent the sump from bowing over time.

Input Plate Gasket

Over time, salt creep can build up around the edges of the input plate. To help prevent this, the Platinum Series includes a gasket that seals the gap between the input plate and the sump.

This added seal helps reduce salt creep buildup and keeps the sump area cleaner long term.
