  • Expensive By Jason on 1/16/2017

Smaller version of thr energy bar 8. Works the same as the larger unit. Due to the price different between the two energy bars, I would not recommend this one unless you don't have the space for the larger one.
  • Plug and go, no problem By Bruce on 5/30/2016

Plug and go, no problem. Used a 15 foot cable and an EB4 to put in a remote dosing and top off installation as space is at a premium under my stand. Worked as expected.
  • Worked as good as abvertise By Tray on 5/17/2016

Works great, easy to connect into the system for when you need those extra outlets and a lot of control.
  • Great unit at good price By Fred on 1/18/2016

Fantastic add-on for anyone that could use a few extra programmable outlets on their Apex.
  • Added an extra to connect to a UPS By Justin on 8/21/2015

My dosing pumps and ATO run off a EB4, and heating and cooling runs on a EB8, so I just bought this EB4 to run the pumps and lights off a UPS so that when the generator test happens monthly the pumps/lights/Apex can stay on during the blip.

Only downside to adding an extra EB4 to an existing setup is that it gets added "below" your existing outlets, virtual or not, so now everything on this new EB is at the bottom of the list and the only way to sort them again is to delete everything and start over.
  • Perfect and Easy Setup By EWJAX on 10/31/2014

Have my pumps/heaters hooked up to my 8 socket energy bar and have that connected to Surge/GFI. However, I wanted to get a notification if the GFI or circuit breaker jumped. I connected my 4 socket energy bar to a UPS (GFI protected) and all the USB powered modules to that. With my network on UPS, if I lose power to my main energy bar (with the right programming), I now get notified.
  • Great Controlability By Kristoffer on 3/4/2014

The Apex JR has unbelievable controllability. Can control from the screen, my computer or my iphone. Remote access is amazing, I can check everything on my tank when I am on vacation or at work. Only thing I regret is that I would have bought the next model up, running two kessil lights I already lose half the outlets. Will probably expand in the near future
  • Worth it for all Apex Levels By Jared on 1/6/2014

Took about 30 seconds to program after initial hookups were made. this 4 plug unit is the base for my EcoTech power. I can monitor all power distributed to all ecotech devices (2x radion 2x mp10) amazing now little amperage LED lights use.
  • good for a few more ports By john on 1/2/2014

    Literally plug and play.

If you need 4 more outlets for the apex this is what you want.
  • Easy By Warren on 4/1/2013

Easily connected to my Neptune Jr. Needed a few more plugs and this plugged and played with easy. Love it.

Product Questions

Can I use this as an additional strip on the new Apex system?
Question by: Allan Dalid on May 28, 2017 8:34:00 AM
The new Apex is backwards compatible with the previous generation of energy bars, however you will lose some functionality when compared to the EB832. If you are just looking for more controllable outlets, this should work just fine.

Have a great day!

Can use this on apex gold
Question by: Chris Brunelle on Nov 24, 2016 7:59:00 PM
Great question! Yes this will work with the Apex Gold. All you need is an open Aquabus port. :-)

Question by: Chris Brunelle on Dec 18, 2016 10:40:00 AM
Great question! I would recommend removing the DOS Aquabus port and plugging this EB4 in it's place, then plug the DOS in the open port on the new EB4. :-)

What is the length of the power cord?
Question by: Danny Garrison on Feb 3, 2017 1:07:00 PM

The Neptune Energy Bars have a 6ft. power cable.
Answer by: Jason Smith (Admin) on Feb 3, 2017 3:02:00 PM
Just to be clear, you can add these to an apex jr setup to have a total of 8 outlets? These are not just a replacement for the original 4 that are given with the setup. Thanks.
Question by: Jason on Dec 27, 2013 8:31:00 AM
Hi Jason,
That is correct. This is an add on energy bar module to add 4 more controllable outlets to your system.
