Why does BRS recommend this?
Have you ever had a canister get stuck and not want to come off when you are replacing filters on your RODI system? The secret is putting a slight amount of Molykote 111 lubricant on the O-ring every time you replace the filters. DuPont Molykote 111 O-ring lubricant is used to prevent the O-rings in RO canisters from binding up when tightened and provides a tight seal. We usually have a bottle of sitting with our replacement filters.

Hi Chris,
It depends on the size of your o-rings and how much your applying each use, but for most folks in the hobby its a lifetime supply :-)
