EcoTech VorTech QuietDrive Features:
In a reef aquarium, having the perfect amount of flow and water movement is crucial to the health of your animals, as well as the overall success of the tank. With the VorTech Quiet Drive, choosing the proper water circulation equipment has never been more simple. VorTech pumps are designed by aquarists to be the standard in wave-making technology:
- Create massive water movement - Adjustable flow rates with included controller allow you to dial in a setting that is tailored to your aquarium
- No hot spots - With its broad flow pattern, the VorTech QuietDrive eliminates "flow hot spots"
- Three-dimensional flow - A unique patented design is unrivaled in creating three-dimensional flow conditions and gyres
- Comprehensive flow modes - 12 different flow modes allow you to choose the best setting for happy corals and fish
- Ultra low-profile design - With its patented design, the VorTech QuietDrive is the least visually obtrusive pump on the market
- Safe - No electrical components in the aquarium greatly reduces the risk of electrical shock to you or your animals.
Multiple Flow Modes
Simulating a low-energy lagoon. The QuietDrive motor slowly changes, recreating the gentle currents of a lagoon environment.
Reef Crest Mode
Simulating currents found around high energy reefs. The pump changes speed frequently emulating crashing waves and tidal surges. This is a great mode for SPS corals.
Uniform circular flow creates motions that help transports water from one side of the tank to the other. With two pumps paired in Gyre Mode, you can oscillate between a clockwise and counterclockwise gyre that lasts from 2 seconds to 2 hours.
Short Pulse Mode
Strong short pulses that can be set at intervals of 0.2 seconds up to 2 seconds. This mode can create a standing wave in your tank with the correct frequency.
Tidal Swell Mode
A harmonic balance of the ever changing conditions found in the ocean. TSM will vary from calm flow all the way up to chaotic high flow and it even has a pre-programmed detritus cleaning surge that will help suspend particles to be swept into the filtration system.
Nutrient Transport Mode
NTM is programmed to create a two-phase circulation flow mode. Phase one consists of wave motions to help stir up and suspend detritus while the second phase incorporates surging motions to help push particles towards the overflow and down into the filter system. This is our favorite mode and is especially great for sensitive corals like LPS and SPS.
Pause all of your wireless Ecotech Pumps at the push of a button. Pumps will turn down to an idle speed allowing you to feed your tank without the food being pushing into rocks or into the filtration system.
Simulate a calmer environment for night time hours. Night Mode can be enabled or disabled with custom hours programmed to automatically turn on and off.
Wave Auto Tune Mode
Create a standing wave in your aquarium to help sweep detritus and other foreign particles from the sandbed. It is amazing what will magically float out of the rocks when a standing wave is created. We highly suggest pairing two wireless pumps for this mode to get the full effect!

EcoTech the Leader By Scott on 9/29/2017Scott would recommend this product to a friendI have 2 MP 40’s, 2 MP 10’s and 1 MP 60 on my 160 gallon. They have been running for 4 years with biannual cleaning with my fish only system. No problems at all. With my BRS Shadow 16” overflow, my tank is almost too quiet. Yes, there are less expensive products but how many times have you ended up wasting money when you could have saved a few dollars from the start if you began with a superior product. Salt tanks are expensive but the hardware part pays off in the long run with healthy expensive fish and corals. Ecotech without question. They do their homework.
Great pump By Josh on 9/20/2017Josh would recommend this product to a friendBest pump on the market, excellent customer service.
Great Product By WebCitz on 9/10/2017WebCitz would recommend this product to a friendI've got two of these on a 300 gallon aquarium from Custom Aquariums. It is an 8' wide tank and have one on each end. They work great and are connected to a Reeflink. I will probably hook up to the Apex soon though. Well worth the cost for the flow!
Brilliant By N8 on 3/15/2017N8 would recommend this product to a friendI've used one for a couple years and they are brilliant/bulletproof. Those who've had trouble... I dunno, but mine is a brilliant, beautiful, and flawless piece of reefing kit.
Manuafactueing Issues By Sam on 3/13/2017Sam wouldn't recommend this product to a friendHad the controller go out on one after 4 months and ordered a spare. It would not work out of the box. Contacted ecotech and awaiting resolution which will determine final overall rating
Wow By Simiakos on 12/17/2015Simiakos would recommend this product to a friendSo it works incredible and is extremely quiet. Only negative that I see so far is price but by eliminating all the wires from my tank was worth it.
works great By Sean on 11/19/2015Sean wouldn't recommend this product to a friendworth the money
Broke after 1.5 yr By Big E on 9/25/2015Big E wouldn't recommend this product to a friendGarbage. Bought two. Although they worked decently in the beginning, they had constant issues. Do not run reliably. Stopped working altogether after 1.5 yrs. Would not buy. Would not recommend. Very disappointed.
wow By Chase on 4/30/2015Chase would recommend this product to a friendThe lack of noise this pump makes compared to the power it has blows my mind. This is the coolest aquarium purchase I have ever made. I have a single mp60 on a 220 gal tank for the time being but so far it is enough.
