- RO/DI Flood Guardian - XP Aqua
Stop Floods and Wasting Water with the Only Electronic Auto Shut Off Valve Kit for RO/DI Systems
XP Aqua RO/DI Flood Guardian is the perfect solution for any reefer that wants a float valve that they do not need to drill or permanently mount to a reservoir. The Flood Guardian uses a dual optical sensor that can be magnetically attached to 5-gallon buckets, ATO containers, or even large saltwater mixing reservoirs, but then moved to any other container within seconds without leaving any holes behind. When water reaches the optical eye, it will send an electronic signal to the controller which will shut the included solenoid off, stopping the flow of water.
- Automatically Shuts Off Your RO/DI System
- Installs and Uninstalls in Seconds
- No Holes or Drilling
- Magnetic Mount
- Dual Optical Eye for Safety
- Works in Complete Darkness
- Includes RO Solenoid Valve
- Eliminates Waste Water Run-Off
1-7 Day Delay Timer
Traditional float valves and switches will automatically turn on your RODI system after a couple drops of water are removed from the reservoir which can cause TDS creep and simply an inefficient use of water. XP Aqua's Flood Guardian lets you program in a 1 to 7-day delay timer that will let you pull water out of the reservoir without it being topped off every time. Just set how many days you want the Flood Guardian to delay before refills, and you can start producing better water with less waste.
Optical Sensor Installation
The optical sensor can be mounted in any reservoir with a wall thickness under 1/2" at the level you wish to fill it up to. The cable should be positioned vertically which will stack the optical eyes, allowing it to utilize the dual sensors. The sensor can be placed in a bright room or even in complete darkness.
Solenoid Valve Installation
RO/DI System without an Auto Shut Off Valve - The solenoid valve should be placed between your RO/DI systems pre-filters and the membrane. It is important to place the solenoid after sediment filters, or even better after carbon blocks to remove any particulates that could clog the solenoid valve. Installing the valve before your RO/DI system can cause the solenoid valve to fail prematurely.
RO/DI System with an Auto Shut Off Valve - The solenoid valve can be placed anywhere after your DI and before the water enters your reservoir. This method will let you use your RODI system like normal if you split the RO or DI water off to any other reservoirs while allowing the XP RO/DI Flood Guardian to work properly on its own.

Does its job. Prevents overfills. By Dave on 8/16/2019Dave would recommend this product to a friendI make my rodi in the garage. I used to run it at night and forget to turn it off. Water would be all over my floor and out the garage. Now with this setup. I just run it and forget it. Its a great investment for 50 bucks. No more overfills.
Got my connected to a smart plug By Cisco on 8/5/2019Cisco would recommend this product to a friendI have a line running directly from the rodi to my reef tank , so I have it connected to a smart plug which turns on about 3 times a day and tops off my tank with fresh rodi water also mindful the smart plug is only on for 15 min Incase anything was ever to fail
Fantastic way to prevent flooding your house By Justin on 7/1/2019Justin would recommend this product to a friendLove this flood guardian. Kills the water when my rodi container is full. Easy to move from one container to the other. Won’t kick back on without you hitting the start button and gives an audible beep when fill is complete
Reduced speed of RO water creation By Richard on 2/18/2019Richard wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThe valve's appears to restrict the flow rate such that my time to create 5 gal of RO/DI water went from 50 minutes to over 3 hours.
Save your floors By Scott on 2/17/2019Scott would recommend this product to a friendIt literally takes less than five minutes to install. The controller has a off/on button built into it and also an alarm. The alarm will sound when the water reaches the designated level (set by you with the sensor). The alarm sounds for a little less than 15 seconds and then shuts off. This is not an ATO, just an "idiot switch." Yes, it is expensive for what it is. However this will save the money you will spend replacing your floors and walls after you forgot to shut the water off.
Only Shuts source off. Doesnt top off By Chad on 1/30/2019Chad would recommend this product to a friendThis is a great product. Turn on your feed to your water container and set the sensor where it needs to stop filling. Works perfectly. I have seen a ton of people thinking it is an ATO on/off. It is not that. They make great products!
What happens if you lose power? Will it shut off or keep flowing water?
In the event of an outage the solenoid will stay in the position it was in before the outage. So, if it was open and the power cuts off it will stay opened.
What is the length of the optical sensor cable?
Thank you for reaching out to us. The optical sensor cable is 10' long.
Please let us know if you need anything further and take care!
