  • Confused By FL Ron on 7/21/2017

I have replaced the power supply because it wasn't working. Once I did that, I noticed the pump wasn't working, so I replaced it. I still do not have the pump working, but the controller will indicate when the water is low, or too high, and will give a green light when it isOK. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  • Got my $'s worth By CrazyDiamond on 4/5/2017

I had this pump running off the osmator for eight years and it ran like a champ for that time frame topping off my tank with RO water. After pumping water 12 feet from my storage tank to the sump for those 8 years, it finally lost its mojo and I had to replace it. I hope to get another eight years out of my replacement Tunze pump.
  • Works Great.. By Joseph on 3/19/2017

I was having Issues with the old pump. They new one works so well. I hope I get another 3 years from this one. :)
  • Works but you need to read the directions By Kecked on 2/25/2017

This unit is designed for smaller tanks. It is designed to shutoff after a period of time regardless of the float to protect from over filling a small tank. That's why you had to unplug it and turn back on. There is a jumper to stop that. See manual. Ps it also will save your pump from dry running.
  • Excellent System By Huck on 12/28/2016

I have been running my TUNZE ATO system for about 4 years. I started out with a 50 Gal reef adn after two years upgraded to a 125 gal reef, and the TUNZE ATO has run through the transition flawlessly. I purchased a spare pump when I purchased the system 4 years ago, and it is still in the packaging unopened. My original pump is still in service. I did run into a small problem after two years of service, as I used kalk in my makeup water, and the pump stopped working. I simply placed in a distilled vinegar/RO water solution and let it stand for a few days, and then the pump started working again. Kalk will definitely reduce the life span of pump as it was not designed to pump a pastey Kalk solution. I upgraded to dosing 2 part and removed Kalk from my system altogether. If this unit is running strictly RO water it will last. for a long time.
  • Just in case!! By Badabing on 10/17/2016

I'm replacing my three year old pump, it still works but it's starting to make alittle more noise so for $20 I'm changing it and keep the other for a spare, never a problem with this ato!!!
  • Quality at a great price. Always have a spare By Fred on 9/14/2016

The Tunze ATO is the best ATO on the market and it's always good to have a spare pump on hand, because for the price, you ant afford not to.
All around quality and easy to swap out/install. Small, quiet pump but still really strong.
  • When you need to replace your Osmolator pump ... By Larry on 4/25/2016

This is a cheap, easy replacement.
  • Good experience despite what some other people have said. By Seanj on 3/16/2016

I'm still on my first pump that came with my osmolator, and it's been running for almost a year sucking kalk probably everyday in pretty much the most extreme situation possible for an ATO pump. I will happily buy a replacement before it quits just to have it on hand.
  • Great product! By dallast on 12/8/2015

Bought ato on EBay, so when pump failed I was out of luck with tunze directly. Customer service at tunze was fantastic through reef2reef forum. I'm quite sure had I purchased new, he would have just sent me a new pump immediately.
I love this ato and I am not sure how I lived without it for so many years.
  • great stuff By reefer matt on 12/7/2015

I decided to buy this as a back up. My original one is still kickin after 4+ years .
  • Great! By Philip on 12/7/2015

Pump is super quiet an real easy to set up.....just using with ato not dosing so it works awesome

Product Questions

does this also replace the pump for the tunze 5017?
Question by: Doug on Aug 17, 2014 2:16:00 AM
Hi Doug,

This should work with any of Tunze's ATO systems. The 5017 is just one component of the Osmolator 3155 system so it is a direct replacement to the pump included.

Hope this helps!
Have a great day :)

Can I use this pump with the Neptune 1Link module + accessory cable (as an alternative to the Neptune PMUP device)? I'm building an auto-water-change system for a Nuvo 30L; planned duty cycle will be about 3 gallons weekly. I own the Tunze Osmolator--love it!
Question by: Jon on Mar 27, 2017 8:53:00 AM
Hey there,
The Tunze devices are great! I'm afraid in this case the Tunze pump is specifically meant to work with the 9v power supply on the osmolators, and the accessory cable and 1link and PMUP type accessories are designed to run at 24v.

ok so i want to use this as a daily water changer coming on about 8-9 minutes a dayx4+ the head height will be about 5 ft what return pump would you recommend that would closely match this or can a separate Metering Pump for Tunze Osmolator 5000.02 be purchased with a separate power supply to achieve this

(fresh water discus setup) this unit will be set up in a sump
Question by: dan ellis on Jan 15, 2016 2:57:00 AM
Hey there!
Great question, The Tunze replacement pump is only currently designed for use with the Osmolator controller. For alternative pumps we recommend looking into standard small return pumps such as the Sicce 1.5 which has a head height of 6' and could just push the water over the side of a 5' tank. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

I have this unit installed in a 7 gallon reservoir under my Red Sea 250 Tank set up. Occasionally it loses prime and struggles to regain it, especially when the reservoir is below 1/4 full. Do you think an inline check valve like the Ozone Resistant Kynar Check-Valve (3/16) would help?
Question by: Chuck Dortenzio on Apr 17, 2016 5:28:00 PM
Great question!
A small check valve could help in addition to increasing the speed of the pump if possible. You will want to look into adjusting the pump settings to increase the dosage. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

What is the head pressure and GPH of this pump?
Question by: Jon Kramer on Jun 17, 2015 11:57:00 AM
Great question!
The Pump has a varying GPH rating depending on the head height. Its maximum head height is around 8 feet. and it has a GPH rating of up to 15 GPH.

Does this include the black tubing that comes with the Osmolator Nano 3152 Auto Top Off - Tunze? If not, could you help me find a replacement on the BRS site? Thanks!

Question by: Sean on May 13, 2017 4:05:00 AM
Hey there,
I'm afraid that this is the pump only. The tubing supplied is a special, extra thick tubing that Tunze only provides in the ATO units. It does have a standard OD of 1/4" though, and we do carry a number of other 1/4" OD tubing options that would be compatible, such as the DOS tubing and 3/16" ID air line tubing.

Happy reefing!

What is the actual diameter of the pump base?
Question by: Eric on Apr 21, 2016 7:41:00 AM
Great question!
the Diameter of the pump is 2"
Answer by: Connor (Admin) on Apr 26, 2016 3:02:00 PM
How big, as in dimensions is the pump? need to configure my top off water container low so as to avoid siphon back into the container, so am ordering a low profile container with a lid, will it fit through say a six inch hole?
Question by: Jodee on Jan 27, 2014 2:03:00 PM
Hey Jodie,
Its smaller then a pop can. A 6" hole will be no issue at all :-)
